  • Create technical customer collateral, including test reports, application notes, and input for data sheets and design guides.
  • Support customer qualification testing by providing test procedures, collecting data, and helping interpret results.
  • Respond to technical inquiries via email, phone, and web portal, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of customer questions.
  • Participate in customer technical calls and remote debugging sessions to troubleshoot signal integrity, cable performance, and system integration problems, building toward serving as a technical contact for customers.
  • Collaborate with FAEs and sales teams on pre-sales technical requests, including performance characterizations, demonstrations, and feasibility assessments.

2. NPI Project Support (20%)

  • Perform lab characterization and validation of new products on evaluation boards and in representative system environments.
  • Interpret lab data results and derive actionable conclusions with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Provide performance feedback to influence new product development and customer product improvements as the ‘voice of the customer’.
  • Develop and maintain test setups and Python-based automation for lab equipment.
  • Contribute to NPI documentation, including evaluation board user guides, test procedures, and characterization reports.

3. Training and Development (10%)

  • Train field application engineers and sales teams on Semtech products, including features, key applications, and lab demonstrations.
  • Prepare training materials such as presentations, demo setups, and technical FAQs based on lab findings and customer issues.
  • Share common customer issues and lessons learned with field and sales teams so they can support customers more effectively.

4. Travel (10%)

  • Perform onsite customer debug and support, working alongside senior engineers to resolve signal integrity and system integration issues at customer sites.
  • Support product promotion through customer visits, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
  • Attend conferences and tradeshows, addressing technical questions at product demonstrations.

  • Familiarity with RF and signal integrity fundamentals, including exposure to VNA measurements through coursework, co-op, or project work.
  • Exposure to test equipment such as Bit Error Rate Testers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers is an asset.
