About the Faculty of Business, Communication Studies and Aviation

The Faculty of Business, Communications Studies and Aviation has approximately 4,000 students and includes the EFMD accredited Bissett School of Business and the School of Communication Studies. The Bissett School of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with majors in General Management, Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, International Business, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing. The Aviation programs include a Bachelor of Aviation Management (BAM), an Aviation Diploma and a flight school at our Springbank Aviation Campus. The School of Communication Studies offers a Bachelor of Communication Studies with majors in Journalism and Digital Media, Broadcast Media Studies, Information Design, and Public Relations.

About the Department of International Business, Supply Chain Management and Aviation

The Supply Chain Management BBA major is designed to educate students on trends in global supply chains, international trade and the growing need for businesses to develop more effective processes to create and distribute products and services. The International Business BBA major prepares students to operate and compete in the global business environment through a combination of theory and application. Students develop in-depth knowledge of global trade and cross-cultural management, in addition to methods and strategies associated with foreign market entry. The BAM and Diploma in Aviation blend pilot training with business strategy to prepare students for high-impact roles in airline and airport operations, aerospace logistics and aviation leadership. Students who take the Diploma or Flight Crew Operations concentration of the Bachelor’s degree graduate with a commercial pilots license and multi-engine rating. In addition to the majors and diploma, the Department of International Business, Supply Chain Management and Aviation oversees delivery of the Minor in Data Analytics and Statistics courses required for all BBA students. Furthermore, Business Law is housed in this department, but delivers courses to all BBA students and students from other programs.
