Job description

ASSOCIATE OPTOMETRIST

Markham, Ontario

Start seeing patients right away. Work alongside Dr. Anson Tam, a community-focused optometrist who prioritizes building strong patient relationships and delivering high-quality care.

Dr. Anson Tam’s clinic

This established clinic, located within Specsavers Markville Shopping Centre, is seeking an Associate Optometrist for 1 day per week, ideally Saturday. Conversational Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a strong asset.

Supported by a dedicated, patient-focused team, the clinic serves a strong patient base and is committed to delivering high-quality care. This is an excellent opportunity for an optometrist who values clinical autonomy, flexibility, and a relationship-led approach to patient care.

Everything you need to deliver exceptional care

You’ll work alongside passionate professionals who share a commitment to changing lives through better sight. Here, your focus stays where it belongs — in the exam room, delivering thoughtful, patient-centred care, not chasing sales targets.

You’ll have access to a full suite of advanced clinical technology, including:

  • The NIDEK Tonoref 3
  • NIDEK automated lensometer
  • Topcon Maestro2
  • NIDEK intelligent refract RT-6100
  • S4OPTIK slit lamp

A shared commitment to care — be part of a team dedicated to proactive eye health, with OCT available as a standard part of every eye exam

Integrated pre-test support — trained eyecare consultants welcome and guide your patients through pre-testing, with results sent directly to your exam room for your consultation

Clinical autonomy — practice in an independent clinic with the freedom to deliver care your way, supported by Specsavers’ technology and resources

Ongoing development — access dedicated optometry support consultants and annual continuing education opportunities for professional growth

Clinic ownership when you’re ready – develop your business acumen and ability to lead teams. Apply to Pathway, a business development program designed to support you in taking the next steps to become a clinic owner at your pace.

Compensation

Receive a daily minimum or a percentage billings, whichever amount is higher for each clinic day worked. The expected range for this role is:

Daily minimum of $600 CAD

Percentage of billings: 70%

Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skillset by the independent clinic owner.
