Reporting to the Manager, Business Applications, the Business Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, integration, optimization and evolution of enterprise business applications across Doctors of BC.

The role works across ERP, CRM, LMS, data and digital platforms to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, with a strong focus on systems integration, interoperability, automation and sustainable solution design.

The Business Applications Specialist plays a key role in connecting platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake and other enterprise applications, while identifying opportunities to simplify business processes, reduce manual effort and improve the flow of information across systems.

The position works closely with business stakeholders, the Technical Solutions Engineer, application teams, Data Management, Cybersecurity, project teams and external vendors to deliver reliable and maintainable business solutions.

Technical skills & responsibilities:

  • Support the design, configuration, implementation and ongoing optimization of enterprise business applications, with a strong focus on Oracle NetSuite and related Finance solutions.
  • Design and support integrations across NetSuite, Salesforce, Snowflake and other enterprise applications.
  • Analyze business processes and requirements and translate them into scalable solutions and integration designs.
  • Develop and maintain integration specifications, data mappings, interface documentation, process flows and current/future-state solution diagrams.
  • Evaluate whether requirements should be addressed through configuration, integration, automation or application development, while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Work with business and technical teams to identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve interoperability between systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues, performing root-cause analysis across systems, interfaces and data flows.
  • Support appropriate integration controls, including error handling, monitoring, logging, reconciliation and operational support procedures.
  • Collaborate with external implementation partners and vendors to review proposed solutions, clarify requirements and ensure solutions align with organizational architecture and supportability expectations.
  • Support data migration, validation, testing, deployment and post-implementation stabilization activities.
  • Develop queries, scripts, or other technical utilities, where appropriate, to support analysis, troubleshooting, data validation, and automation.
  • Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including discovery, requirements, solution design, testing, deployment and operational transition.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge transfer across the Business Applications team.
  • Proactively investigate emerging capabilities within the enterprise application ecosystem and identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and processes.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Works effectively with the Technical Solutions Engineer and other Business Applications resources while maintaining clear functional accountabilities.
