Job description

CAD TECHNICIAN

Full-Time | Permanent | Sherwood Park, AB

Indigenous owned. Western Canadian grown. Built for what’s next.

Apex Geomatics is growing, and we're looking for an experienced CAD Technician to join our team.

Working alongside our Project Managers, field survey teams and CAD group, you will turn field data into accurate, high-quality technical deliverables supporting some of Western Canada's most significant construction, infrastructure and industrial projects.

This isn't simply a drafting position. We're looking for someone who understands construction surveying, takes ownership of their work and recognizes that the quality of a CAD deliverable directly impacts the people building from it in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a CAD Technician with Apex, you'll support our project teams by:

  • Processing and reviewing survey field data
  • Preparing construction survey drawings, plans and technical deliverables
  • Creating and managing surfaces, alignments, profiles and digital models
  • Completing survey calculations and data preparation for field crews
  • Preparing as-built and record drawings
  • Performing quality control checks before deliverables are issued
  • Working closely with Project Managers and field personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Maintaining organized project files, data and drawing standards
  • Supporting multiple active construction projects and priorities

WHAT YOU BRING

We're looking for someone with:

  • Previous CAD experience within surveying, civil construction or geomatics
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • An understanding of construction survey practices and field data
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing to a team
  • A reputation for reliability, accountability and doing the job right
  • A diploma or technical education in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline is considered an asset.

WHY APEX?

We're not standing still. Apex has grown into a multidisciplinary civil engineering field services company supporting major industrial, infrastructure and construction projects.

As a 100% Indigenous-owned company, we're building something bigger than another technical services firm. We're building a company known for its people, its technical capability and its ability to deliver.

At Apex, you can expect:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Comprehensive health and benefits program
  • RRSP matching
  • Opportunities for professional and technical development
  • Exposure to major construction and industrial projects
  • A growing organization with opportunities to advance
  • A team that values accountability, quality and continuous improvement

If you're looking for more than your next CAD job and want to help build what's next at Apex, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today and join a team that's Leading by Design.
