Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cloud FinOps Advisor based in Canada.

This is a high-impact opportunity for a cloud financial management expert who combines deep FinOps knowledge with strong customer-facing and commercial skills. You will help enterprise organizations gain control over cloud spending, optimize resource usage, and improve the financial efficiency of complex cloud environments. Acting as a trusted technical and strategic advisor, you will support sales teams during complex opportunities while guiding customers throughout their cloud optimization journey. You will lead advisory engagements covering cost optimization, rate optimization, and workload automation across multi-cloud environments. Through discovery sessions, design reviews, and practical workshops, you will turn cloud financial insights into measurable business outcomes. The role offers a fully remote working environment across Canada.

Accountabilities

Act as the FinOps and cloud cost optimization subject matter expert, supporting sales and pre-sales teams on complex enterprise opportunities.

  • Serve as a specialist overlay when deeper technical and financial expertise is required throughout the sales cycle.

  • Lead pre-sales and post-sales customer engagements focused on cloud cost optimization, rate optimization, and FinOps best practices.

  • Advise enterprise customers on cloud financial management strategies across multi-cloud environments.

  • Guide customers in workload optimization and automation, including the use of optimization platforms and tools for containerized and autoscaling environments.

  • Conduct customer discovery sessions, technical design reviews, and practical advisory workshops.

  • Translate complex cloud economics and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with sales, pre-sales, and customer success teams to ensure customers receive consistent strategic and technical guidance.

  • Requirements:

    • Strong professional experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud cost optimization, ideally in a customer-facing consulting or solutions engineering role.

    • Proven ability to support enterprise sales cycles as a technical and strategic advisor, working across sales, pre-sales, and customer success functions.

    • Hands-on familiarity with major cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

    • Understanding of cloud optimization concepts and tools, including rate optimization, resource rightsizing, and workload automation.

    • Familiarity with optimization platforms and solutions for containerized workloads and autoscaling environments.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex cloud and financial concepts to both technical and business audiences.

    • Strong consulting and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-oriented approach and the confidence to lead strategic discussions.

    • Ability to connect cloud technology decisions with financial performance and broader business objectives.

    • Benefits:

      • Annual salary ranging from CAD $155,000 to CAD $200,000.

      • Performance-based compensation incentives.

      • Comprehensive benefits package, including health coverage and wellness support.

      • Flexible, remote-friendly working environment.

      • Generous or flexible paid time off and paid holidays.

      • Volunteer time and supportive policies for new parents and families.

      • Retirement and employee investment programs, including 401(k)-style plans where applicable.

      • Employee stock purchase or investment opportunities, depending on region.

      • Student loan or tuition support in applicable regions.
