About the opportunity:
Sweat and Tonic’s commissary facility is the distribution center for laundry, food & beverage, supplies, retail, and fitness inventory for the entire business. As a part-time commissary driver & team member, you will play a vital role in getting clean towels, food & beverage, and supplies to our studios every day. This is a hands-on, hybrid role split across delivery driving on a fixed route, and laundry processing/inventory control on site. The hours are part-time, averaging 25-30 hours per week.
On the road, you will drive our 24–26 ft commissary box truck on a scheduled early-morning delivery route to our downtown Toronto studio locations. You’ll load and unload clean towel totes, food & beverage coolers, and supplies, and collect dirty towels for return to the commissary on the same loop. The route includes curbside stops and loading docks in large buildings, so you must be confident backing into bays and maneuvering a large truck through tight downtown streets and bike lanes. Because the truck is a registered commercial vehicle, you will complete a daily trip inspection before each shift, follow hours-of-service rules, and keep the vehicle clean, organized, and in safe working order. This role is essential to making sure every studio is stocked and ready before the first class of the day.
For laundry operations, you will be responsible for cleaning, folding, and staging laundry for delivery to our fitness studio locations in a ready-to-use state. This role requires speed, efficiency, and strong teamwork, to ensure that quotas are met daily and that studio locations never run out of towels.
You will also occasionally assist with inventory management protocols, including but not limited to verifying incoming shipments, putting away orders, organizing storage areas, conducting weekly or monthly supply counts, picking and staging orders for shipment, and loading items into the truck for delivery.
You’re a good fit if you’re a confident, safety-first driver with real box-truck experience, work fast, are committed to detailed cleanliness and organization, and take pride in hitting daily targets. The role requires a full Ontario G licence, a clean driving record, and flexible availability across weekday and weekend mornings.
Facility is located at Gerrard/Carlaw.
Primary responsibilities:
- Drive the commissary box truck on a scheduled daily route to all studio locations, delivering on time and following the planned route.
- Complete a daily trip inspection of the truck and record it before each shift.
- Follow all commercial vehicle requirements, including hours-of-service rules and keeping the CVOR certificate and vehicle documents in the cab.
- Safely load, secure, and unload towel totes, food & beverage coolers, and supplies using a dolly.
- Collect dirty towels from each studio for return to the commissary on the same route.
- Report vehicle damage, maintenance issues, and incidents to Commissary Leads immediately.
- Keep the truck cab and cargo area clean and organized, including clearing snow and ice from the roof in winter.
- Maintain efficient laundry operations, ensuring adequate back stock and alerting team leads promptly about any shortages.
- Wash and dry laundry to prep for folding.
- Roll, fold, and stage towels for delivery to all studio locations.
- Conduct basic washer/dryer cleaning and maintenance (training will be provided).
- Assist with end-to-end inventory management, including receiving, storing, counting, organizing, and staging for delivery.
- Strictly adhere to health and safety guidelines for road safety and workplace environments.
About you:
- You have a flexible schedule with availability for weekday and weekend mornings, including early starts.
- You have regular experience driving a box truck 20 ft or longer.
- You are comfortable driving in downtown Toronto traffic, including curbside stops, loading docks, and backing into bays.
- You are a safety-first driver who stays alert to cyclists, pedestrians, and blind spots.
- You have a detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on cleanliness and organization.
- You are a proactive problem-solver who can work independently with minimal supervision.
- You possess the physical stamina to handle repeated loading and unloading and continuous laundry operations.
- You are a reliable team player with excellent time management skills.
- You bring a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in service.
Qualifications:
- Full Ontario G licence or higher (G1 and G2 licences are not eligible)
- Regular experience driving a box truck or straight truck 20 ft or longer
- Clean driving record; a current driver’s abstract will be required
- Experience making deliveries in downtown Toronto is an asset
Compensation:
- $23 per hour
Other benefits:
- Unlimited S&T membership for you and a loved one
- Discounts on select items at The S&T Shop
- 20% off at Tonic Bar
- 20% off same-day services at Tonic Spa
- Access to discounts at up to 5,000 retailers across Canada
- Up to $2,500 in tuition reimbursement annually
