Full company description

Insomnia Cookies was born out of the dislike of heavy meals late at night, love of food delivery, and the realization that by the time you get hungry at night, nothing is open. The concept was founded by Seth Berkowitz in 2003 from his dorm room while attending the University of Pennsylvania. Berkowitz started baking and delivering warm cookies to students late-night on campus... and Insomnia Cookies was born. Today with 300+ locations and growing, Insomnia Cookies offers many varieties of delicious cookies delivered warm from the oven right to your door! We are open when you need it most; delivering from 11/12pm and staying open until 3:00am, at most of our locations. Our menu options also include brownies, deluxe cookies, ice cream and of course a pint of cold milk is available with any order. Whether you're feeding a craving or a crowd; Insomnia Cookies has you covered.

Job description

Insomnia Cookies was founded in a college dorm room by then-student, Seth Berkowitz. Fast forward 20 years and so... many....cookies... later, our innovative bakery + delivery concept has become a cult brand known for its rabid following of cookie lovers who crave Insomnia’s warm, delicious delivery all day and late into the night. With an expanding footprint of over 350 stores globally, an experiential, “sweet-easy” flagship concept, and large scale operations and delivery capabilities ... Insomnia Cookies is revolutionizing the cookie game by truly "Imagining What’s Possible"!

At Insomnia Cookies, warm cookies are just the beginning.

As a Cookie Crew Member, you're part baker, part hospitality expert, and part late-night hero. Whether you're welcoming guests into the bakery, pulling a fresh tray of cookies from the oven, or packing the perfect delivery order, you'll help create the experience that keeps our fans coming back night after night.

Our bakeries move fast, especially after the rest of the world has called it a night. Every shift is a team effort, and every warm cookie, friendly interaction, and perfectly packed order matters.

If you enjoy working with great people, thrive in an energetic environment, and love making someone's day just a little sweeter, you'll fit right in.

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Every shift is a little different, but you can expect to:

    • Welcome every guest with genuine hospitality and make every interaction memorable.
    • Prepare, bake, and package our warm cookies, brownies, ice cream, and other treats to Insomnia's quality standards.
    • Accurately prepare in-store, pickup, delivery, and online orders.
    • Operate the register and process guest transactions.
    • Keep the bakery clean, stocked, organized, and food-safe throughout every shift.
    • Jump in wherever your team needs you, whether that's restocking supplies, helping a teammate, or keeping the line moving.
    • Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency, partnering with your Shift Leader when needed.
    • Deliver the kind of experience that turns first-time guests into lifelong Insomniacs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours per shift).
  • Frequently reach, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and lift.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds regularly.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Use hands and fingers to handle bakery equipment, food products, and a point-of-sale system.
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures, including around ovens, freezers, and refrigeration units.
  • Safely operate kitchen equipment in accordance with company procedures.
  • Read order screens, recipes, and safety information.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Environment

This position works in a fast-paced bakery environment that includes frequent interaction with guests, exposure to heat from ovens, refrigerated storage areas, cleaning chemicals, and moderate noise levels. Evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts are a regular part of the business.

    Schedule Expectations

Our bakeries are busiest during evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Team Members should have availability during these peak business hours. Scheduling needs vary by location.
