Come raise the bar of Canadian fashion with us.

Job Description

The Opportunity

A new point of view is taking shape at PENN. Penningtons.

As the brand evolves, we’re looking at our collections with a fresh perspective — how we interpret fashion, how we design for our customer and how we bring the PENN. brand to life through product.

We’re looking for a Fashion Designer who’s excited to be part of that evolution, bringing fresh ideas, creativity, and a strong fashion perspective to shape the future of our Denim category. You bring a distinct creative eye, an instinct for product and a genuine curiosity about our customer, fashion and culture. You know how to interpret trends through a brand lens and translate them into collections that feel relevant, fresh and commercially meaningful.

Working closely with Design, Merchandising and key partners, you’ll contribute throughout the creative process — from initial concept and seasonal direction to silhouette, colour, fabric, fittings and final collection execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop innovative, trend-driven denim collections, exploring new washes, fits, silhouettes, and details that reflect our brand identity and evolving customer needs.
  • Translate fashion, cultural and consumer influences into relevant silhouettes, colour stories, fabrics and design details.
  • Develop sketches, garment concepts and design packages that clearly communicate creative intent.
  • Bring a clear design point of view to fittings and collection reviews, with close attention to fit, proportion, construction and finishing.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to balance creative vision, customer needs and commercial opportunity.
  • Use customer response, competitive insights and hindsight to continuously strengthen future collections.
  • Explore new ideas, materials and design opportunities that bring freshness and relevance to the assortment.
  • Own the creative execution of assigned categories, ensuring consistency with seasonal direction and the PENN. brand.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • University degree or college diploma in Fashion Design or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant fashion design experience.
  • A refined fashion sensibility and a strong understanding of fit, proportion, silhouette, colour, fabric and garment construction.
  • A genuine curiosity for the customer, fashion, culture and emerging trends, with the ability to interpret them through the PENN. brand.
  • Experience developing sketches, garment concepts, design packages and presentation materials, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to bring a creative vision to life through close partnership with Merchandising and key partners, from initial concept through final execution.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, as the role involves regular communication with partners outside Quebec.

Your Impact

You’ll contribute to defining how this new point of view comes to life through the PENN. collections — bringing fresh ideas, customer understanding and your own creative perspective to the work.

Your designs will help move the assortment forward while staying connected to the customer at the heart of the PENN. brand.
