Role and Facility Information

DETAILS

Here’s your chance to design your rural medicine practice within an established, well-appointed and low-overhead Clinic. The Midway Medical Clinic is well served with a P/T Primary Care Network RN, a P/T Primary Care, remote Social Worker and an experienced MOA already onboard. The Clinic is bright and spacious including a procedure room for excisions, injections etc., two examination rooms, a large office space, two bathrooms and another large multipurpose area. A typical ~3-4-day workweek allows plenty of time for adventures, relaxing, sports, family time, gardening, whatever you enjoy!

The Clinic opportunities are flexible to meet your needs as the new Practitioner. This financially rewarding practice can combine a healthy mix of office visits, telehealth, home visits, Parkview Manor senior’s facility visits, and if desired, the opportunity to do ER shifts, in-patient and LTC at the Boundary District Hospital in nearby Grand Forks.

COMMUNITY AND LIFESTYLE

Midway is a welcoming village in the Boundary region of Southern British Columbia, along the Crowsnest Highway 3 between Osoyoos and Grand Forks. Midway is centrally located between the Okanagan and the West Kootenays. Known for its scenic surroundings, friendly community, and relaxed pace, Midway is less than a 2-hour drive from Kelowna, Penticton, and Rossland/Trail for city life or shopping and is less than an hour from the world-famous vineyards in the Okanagan! Winter provides access to downhill skiing at Mount Baldy or the Phoenix Ski Hill within an hour. In addition, a two-hour drive offers Big White in Kelowna, Silver Star Resort or Apex in Penticton and Red Mountain Resort in Rossland. Our village offers a true small-town experience; strong community connections and surprising amenities usually found in a larger centre.

The Midway Medical Clinic is supported in the community by:

A fully staffed BC Ambulance station

Midway Health Unit - Interior Health (Home Care/Wound Care, Public Health and Mental Health)

Boundary Pharmacy with an experienced and very helpful Pharmacist

An active Community Paramedic

A remote Interior Health lab facility sharing the building

A well-trained Fire Department

Staffed, area RCMP station

Other amenities in Midway include:

Hammy’s Kettle Valley Grocery Store

The Keg and Kettle Grill

McMynn’s Hardware Store

The Spot by BBFD (gas, diesel, convenience store)

Mile Zero Motel

Canada Post Office

Peddler’s Path Guest House

Parkview Manor, a thriving senior’s facility

Close proximity to two Elementary Schools

Midway Campground on the Kettle River

The Community Garden

A very active community theatre group

Midway Community Centre

Kettle River Museum

Village of Midway Airport

Canada-US Border Crossing

The region is well-known for its outdoor lifestyle and sunny climate with the Village of Midway located right on the Kettle River.

Recreational opportunities abound, including the following:

Kettle Valley Golf Club

Boundary Expo Recreation Centre (an NHL sized arena)

Boundary District Curling Club

Kettle Valley Railway trails (Midway is Mile 0 on the KVR)

Well maintained hiking and mountain bike trails

Midway River Walk trail

Cross country skiing

Disc Golf course

Visitors and locals alike enjoy kayaking, canoeing, floating, fly fishing, and camping at the popular Midway Campground on the Kettle River which flows right through town! Boating, water skiing, swimming and fishing is also available at Christina Lake or Osoyoos Lake a mere hour away.

It’s an ideal location for practitioners seeking meaningful community impact without sacrificing lifestyle quality. The configuration of the Midway Clinic is well suited to accommodate 2 practitioners, and we’ve had multiple husband and wife teams over the years.

Midway Medical Clinic provides primary care services to the local population and surrounding area. The clinic works collaboratively with the Midway Interior Health facility and the Community Paramedic to support patient needs. You will be part of a small multidisciplinary team that values accessibility, collegiality, continuity, and patient-centred care. The Clinic has established a reputation for being a warm and welcoming space over its 35 years of serving the area.
