Role and Facility Information

Lush vineyards boarded by Okanagan Lake and a dormant volcano create the panoramic backdrop for life in West Kelowna. Enjoy a farm-to-table way of life, coupled with an array of urban amenities for shopping and dining. The Sqilxw Fist Nations People have called this area home for centuries and pass their rich history down from generation to generation, beautifully weaving their culture throughout the community in art, signs and symbols. West Kelowna is the perfect locale to take advantage of activities in any season. In the summer, sample sandy beaches, golf courses, scenic hikes and wineries. Revel in the winter powder with down-hill and cross country skiing or snowshoeing. West Kelowna holds something for everyone.

The West Kelowna Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) focuses on providing urgent and primary care to both attached and unattached patients in the Central Okanagan Primary Care Network (PCN). The UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5).

The UPCC offers work-life balance with competitive wages, within a group services contract providing flexible hours and days and the contract group self schedules. Work in a larger-than-life landscape and four season’s playground.

Imagine a career that bends to the rhythm of your life, where the balance between professional fulfillment and personal wellbeing isn't just a dream, but your daily reality.

At our UPCC, you are invited to redefine what it means to be a dedicated physician. Our flexible model allows you to tailor your hours to complement your existing practice or personal commitments.

Step into a collaborative team where your expertise as a Family Practitioner is not just needed but celebrated. You'll join a vibrant group of healthcare professionals including Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Mental Health and Substance Use Clinicians, and Medical Office Assistants. Together, you ensure that urgent care flows smoothly and effectively, meeting the pressing needs of the community with precision and empathy.

Our UPCCs are not just a place of work; they are dynamic and supportive environments where professional growth is as much a priority as patient care.

If you're ready to infuse your medical practice with newfound flexibility and join a team where your clinical acumen will make a tangible difference, we invite you to consider this unique opportunity.

For those interested, Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program. The NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program is a comprehensive leadership development program designed specifically for physicians to address the practical leadership knowledge, behaviours and skills that high potential, emerging medical leaders require to step into leadership roles early in their careers.

Apply today to live work and play where others only vacation! It's better here!
