About the Role
As a Junior Technical Solutions Manager, you’ll help companies across Canada and the U.S. turn complex technical and financial information into clear, well-supported R&D tax credit claims.
You’ll work directly with clients to understand the technical work they’re doing, identify potentially eligible R&D activities, and gather the information needed to support their claims. You’ll receive training in SR&ED and Boast’s claim preparation process, with guidance and review from experienced colleagues as you develop your skills. Previous SR&ED experience is not required.
This is an early-career opportunity with meaningful responsibility. You’ll communicate directly with clients, manage competing priorities, analyze technical and financial information, and translate complex projects into accurate, compelling claim narratives. As you grow, you’ll build expertise in SR&ED and other government funding programs while developing your judgment as a trusted technical and client-facing professional.
This role is ideal for a STEM graduate or early-career technical professional who is curious, analytical, comfortable asking thoughtful questions, and excited to take ownership of meaningful client work.
📍 Location: Opportunities in Eastern and Western Canada, with a focus on Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, and Calgary
🏢 In-person collaboration: This is a hybrid role with occasional in-person work
💰 Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually, plus up to a 10% discretionary bonus
🗣️ Language: Professional fluency in English is required. French-English bilingualism is a strong asset, particularly for supporting French-speaking clients.
Key Responsibilities

- Translate complex technical work into clear, compelling claim narratives and supporting documentation
- Build strong working relationships with clients, communicate requirements clearly, follow up on outstanding information, and keep deliverables moving against deadlines.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or potential risks in client information and work with internal experts to resolve them.
- Support clients through claim reviews and audits by preparing documentation, responding to information requests, and contributing to a clear, defensible claim position under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
- Manage multiple client priorities while maintaining accurate records, strong attention to detail, and consistent communication.
- Develop expertise in SR&ED and other funding programs while contributing ideas that improve Boast’s processes, client experience, and technology-enabled delivery.
What You Bring

- Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-management skills
- Experience managing projects or deadlines through school or early-career work.
- Confidence communicating directly with clients and collaborating with technical, financial, and internal stakeholders.
- Exposure to SR&ED, government funding, technical consulting, or financial data would be an asset.
