Modernizing the Specialty insurance industry
Full company description
Ledgebrook is an InsurTech MGA on a mission to bring Specialty insurance into the modern era. Burdened with legacy technology and processes, the industry has not kept pace with the speed of innovation seen in other sectors. Positioned at the cutting edge of the next generation of InsurTech, Ledgebrook offers the best of both worlds: innovative world-class technology deployed by a leadership team armed with decades of insurance expertise. Our long-term vision is to become a diversified full stack Specialty re/insurer competing with legacy carriers in product lines & markets across the globe. To get there Ledgebrook will build our premium base by rolling out a new Specialty product every ~6 months until we prove enough traction to raise a balance sheet, become a full stack carrier and eventually compete in the reinsurance markets as well. Our initial product will be domestic primary and excess GL E&S policies sourced via wholesale brokers. At Ledgebrook everything we do is driven by our culture: Care, Strive, Thrive Together. To succeed in modernizing the industry, we must first succeed in changing the way we do business. Talent density is our north star—fewer, better people working together as one. To that end we’ve replaced all individual incentives with generous equity packages—we play as a team, we win as a team. Everyone benefits handsomely from Ledgebrook’s success. Ledgebrook is a fully-remote US based company backed by top venture investors including Brand Foundry & American Family Ventures.

Description
Ledgebrook is an AI-native specialty insurance platform. When a business needs coverage that is custom and complex, its broker comes to us, and our underwriters give them an answer, often in hours rather than weeks.
We built our technology from scratch, with AI in it from the first line of code. The technology helps price the risk; the underwriter uses their judgment to decide. There are always two hands on the wheel.
We are insurance industry insiders, and we eat our own cooking: Ledgebrook writes the policy and shares the risk through our own carrier, Ledgebrook Specialty, rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best. We work exclusively through wholesale brokers.
Our vision: to make the wheels of insurance spin faster.
At Ledgebrook, everything we do is driven by our culture: Care, Strive, Thrive Together.
About the Role
Ledgebrook is seeking an experienced Catastrophe Modeler & Analytics Specialist to join our Property Pricing team. On this team, you’ll model our property risks and help monitor portfolio exposure to catastrophe events.
You will report to our Head of Property Pricing and collaborate with engineering, data excellence, pricing and analytics, finance, and underwriting to help communicate risk as we work to build our property portfolio consisting of traditional / shared and layered property and inland marine.
What You’ll Do:
- Model individual E&S property submissions: Use Moody’s RMS model to deliver timely loss metrics (AAL, PML) to underwriters.
- Model and monitor aggregate accumulations: Run the entire portfolio through catastrophe models to track tail values at risk as well as average annual losses.
- Support exposure data quality: Clean and enhance submission exposure data, set data standards, and build automated validations to catch issues before modeling.
- Set up, streamline and automate CAT modeling workflows: Develop and oversee automated pipelines that move submissions from raw exposure data to modeled results quickly and reliably.
- Build portfolio analytics: Develop dashboards and analyses in Power BI, Python, and SQL that track exposure, accumulations, and portfolio performance across the Property and Inland Marine book.
- Partner across the business: Collaborate closely with Capital Modeling, Finance, Actuarial, and Data Engineering to embed cat insights into pricing, reinsurance, and capital decisions.
- Communicate risk clearly: Translate complex model output into actionable insights and present technical analysis to underwriters and executive stakeholders.
About you
We love working with people who are eager to learn constantly and genuinely excited about the chaotic, rewarding process of building a company from the ground up.
You’ll be a great fit if you bring:
- A Strong Moral Compass: You believe in doing the right thing, period. We have a strict zero-tolerance policy for toxic behaviors.
- Customer-First Empathy: You are passionate about delivering an exceptional experience to everyone you work with, both inside and outside the company.
- Intellectual Curiosity: You naturally question the status quo and love finding innovative ways to solve problems.
- A Growth Mindset: You possess a hunger for continuous learning and want to constantly expand your skillset.
- Urgency & Prioritization: You can pivot quickly and balance the need to get things right with the speed of getting them done right now.
- A Solution-Oriented Outlook: When things go wrong, you don’t look for blame—you immediately focus on how to fix it.
- Transparent Communication: You value honesty, clarity, and open feedback.
- Team-First Energy: You want to win together as a high-performing team and actively build connections across our remote locations.
