About the Role

At eBay, we offer an outstanding chance to lead and innovate within our Services & Experience portfolio, spanning ads, shipping, payments, monetization, compliance, and risk. As the Manager, Product Strategy & Operations, you will change our processes by using AI tools to automate and improve operations. You will report to the Director of Product Strategy and Operations and collaborate with product leads, engineering, Finance, and program and product operations teams to deliver seamless execution and pivotal initiatives.

What You Will Do

Manage product strategy and operations for your designated area (about 45%)

  • Coordinate the operating cycle for one or two product areas, ensuring cadence, cross-team dependencies, launch readiness, and reporting are strictly managed.
  • Monitor regulatory, risk, and partner requirements, identifying constraints, owners, and deadlines.
  • Conduct weekly operating reviews and monthly business reviews, ensuring each concludes with clear decisions and ownership.
  • Proactively advance any commitments at risk, providing data and viable options.

Automate your own work (at least 30%, protected)

  • Develop agents and workflows that gather status updates, flag at-risk commitments, and generate recurring reports.
  • Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and share successful methods with colleagues.
  • Document guidelines in a playbook to ensure widespread adoption.
  • Track and report hours saved and error rates per workflow.

Support planning and the portfolio (about 15%)

  • Prepare priority intake, goal frameworks, and theme-level funding requests for your area's planning cycle.
  • Coordinate your area's commitments with the revenue plan together with Finance.

Measure outcomes (about 10%)

  • Define success criteria at launch and perform post-launch assessments with product leads.
  • Adhere to shared reporting standards, proposing changes where necessary.

What You Will Bring

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in product operations, program management, business operations, strategy, or a technical role within a product or technology organization.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-team delivery, including collaboration with external partners or regulated launches.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop tools or agents that provide significant time savings.
  • Proficient in LLM APIs, SQL or Python, and workflow tools.
  • Skilled in communicating with senior leaders about potential risks and providing data-driven solutions.
  • Meticulous in reviewing model outputs to ensure accuracy.
  • Strong writing skills, presenting conclusions upfront.

How We Will Measure Success

  • Percentage of projects in your area completed within the scheduled timeframe.
  • Decrease in days from approved idea to funded, staffed start in your area.
  • Percentage of outcome assessments completed for launches within your region.
  • Net hours delivered back to program and product teams each quarter.
  • Adoption rate of the tools you develop among colleagues.
