Project execution and customer delivery

  • Provide functional oversight for engineering projects, including technical reviews, resource planning, risk identification, problem solving, and escalation support.
  • Partner with Project Managers on scope, schedule, cost, risk, and delivery commitments; the manager owns functional capability and technical quality rather than overall project administration unless otherwise assigned.
  • Review technical content for proposals, quotations, statements of work, and customer presentations.

  • Lead or support continuous-improvement, corrective-action, and preventive-action (CAPA) activities within the function.
  • Establish and review key performance indicators, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote effective documentation, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and reuse of proven test solutions.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Experience leading engineers or technical teams, including coaching, performance management, resource planning, and talent development.
  • Experience delivering test solutions in manufacturing, product development, design verification, or a comparable engineering environment.
  • Practical understanding of automated test equipment, test software, instrumentation, data acquisition, fixtures, test coverage, and test-data analysis.
  • Ability to provide technical oversight across both structural and functional testing activities, even when the manager is not the deepest technical specialist in every area.
  • Demonstrated experience with project risk management, technical reviews, problem solving, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, stakeholder-management, and customer-interaction skills.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, corrective and preventive action, continuous improvement, and compliance expectations.
  • Ability to develop functional plans, budgets, proposals, business cases, or change-management plans and align them with business priorities.
