Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fixed-Term Warehousing Operations Manager to lead our warehousing and inventory-control operations during a planned leave. This hands-on leadership role oversees approximately 10 employees through two technical Lead Hands and supports safe, accurate and timely material flow across receiving, inventory and stores areas.

The successful candidate will maintain inventory accuracy, traceability and ERP transaction integrity while managing departmental performance, employee development and competing production priorities. The position works closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, Scheduling and other teams in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities across receiving, raw-material stores, finished-parts stores, hardware and factory supplies, bonding/core-material stores and tooling.
  • Direct and support two Lead Hands and the broader team; coordinate assignments, staffing, attendance, vacations and overtime to meet operational requirements.
  • Coach employees, conduct performance evaluations and address performance, attendance, conduct and workplace issues in partnership with HR and senior leadership.
  • Support hiring, onboarding and training; reinforce established work instructions, safe practices and consistent transaction processes.
  • Oversee material receiving, identification, storage, issuing, transfers, inventory reconciliation and cycle-count completion.
  • Monitor ERP inventory transactions, investigate discrepancies and use transaction histories to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain material traceability and appropriate controls for lot/batch/serial information, holds and releases, nonconforming material, segregation and shelf-life-sensitive inventory.
  • Work with Production, Quality, Procurement and Scheduling to resolve shortages, transaction errors and material-flow issues while reinforcing accountability at the point of origin.
  • Track inventory accuracy, cycle counts, traceability and other departmental KPIs; provide updates, escalate risks and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Maintain safe, organized work areas and support compliance with applicable company procedures, customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Partner with Lead Hands to maintain standard work and exception-handling documentation and support capacity planning for changing production requirements.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in manufacturing warehousing, materials management or inventory control.
  • Minimum two years of direct people-management experience, including employee coaching, performance management and attendance or conduct matters.
  • Experience leading teams through supervisors or Lead Hands and balancing operational priorities.
  • Practical knowledge of receiving, stores, material issuing/transfers, cycle counting, discrepancy investigation and inventory accuracy controls.
  • Hands-on ERP or warehouse-management system experience, including transaction-history analysis, troubleshooting and physical-to-system reconciliation.
  • Experience with traceability-sensitive processes such as lot/serial controls, material holds, shelf-life management, nonconforming material and audit preparation.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, sound analytical judgment and clear communication across departments.
  • Ability to work on the warehouse floor, manage changing priorities and resolve issues collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Warehousing or materials-management experience in aerospace or another quality-regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Epicor ERP experience; familiarity with AS9100 and Controlled Goods requirements.
  • Experience with bonding materials, environmental storage conditions or time-sensitive inventory.
  • APICS/ASCM, CITT or related supply-chain training, and experience supporting increased manufacturing volume.

Ideal Candidate

  • Hands-On Leader: Confident in managing people and willing to learn established technical processes from experienced Lead Hands.
  • Inventory Problem Solver: Investigates root causes and transaction histories rather than relying on inventory adjustments alone.
  • Clear Communicator: Able to work constructively with other departments, set expectations and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Organized & Adaptable: Balances shortages, changing production schedules and team needs without compromising accuracy.
  • Safety & Quality Focused: Prioritizes safe operations, documentation, traceability and consistent execution.

If you are driven, precise, and ready to contribute to a team that values quality and innovation, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity at Fleet Canada.Inc
