Job description

As a trusted partner to advisors, at Manulife Bank, we deliver sophisticated lending solutions and financial strategies that don’t just grow wealth, they amplify it. Built on a foundation of excellence and driven by bold innovation, we empower advisors to deepen relationships, unlock potential, and redefine success for their clients. We’re looking for visionaries who understand where banking is headed; those who can blend the precision of complex financial products with the possibilities of cutting-edge technology. Join us, and be part of a team where banking drives extraordinary outcomes.

As a Mortgage Specialist for the Financial Advisor or Mortgage Broker Network, you will primarily sell Manulife Bank’s mortgage solutions directly to clients who have been referred by financial advisors or mortgage brokers. You will provide mortgage solutions and advice tailored to each client’s specific needs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Selling of Manulife One, Manulife Bank Select and associated lending solutions such as credit cards and creditor insurance directly to clients with no pre-existing advisor relationship that come in through our various websites, Manulife employees or our Consumer Solutions team.
  • Ensure seamless receipt and packaging of all required mortgage documents from clients to ensure timely, efficient, accurate flow of business to the appropriate servicing unit for a lending decision.
  • Successfully manage a sales pipeline and demonstrate a high closing rate.
  • Actively follow-up on a steady flow of leads provided to you from the lead management team
  • Build a portfolio of consumer clients by receiving referrals to enable the direct selling of lending solutions to individuals without an existing advisor connection.
  • Identify and execute client direct sales strategies including educational webinars, trade shows, etc.
  • Updating our CRM (salesforce.com) with all client interactions and to help manage your sales pipeline.
  • Act as a conduit for feedback from clients by identifying ideas for improving existing products and services and new product opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the banking and mortgage brokerage industry
  • Strong understanding of mortgage underwriting
  • Experience conducting virtual meetings and presentations
  • Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills backed by active listening, persuasive communication, and a repeatable sales process.
  • Relationship builder with the ability to foster trust with clients and internal teams, while offering underwriting expertise.
  • Highly organized and results-driven, with excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Adaptable and proactive, thriving in fast-paced environments, embracing change, and taking initiative.
  • Growth-oriented mindset, coachable, receptive to feedback, and motivated by performance-based compensation.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
