The successful candidate should possess research skills through advanced training and have a publication track record. Preference will be given to applicants with formal training or a strong interest in quality improvement and patient safety to build on the Burn Program's existing quality improvement infrastructure and support the ongoing maintenance of American Burn Association (ABA) verification standards. Candidates must be able to function proficiently in English and hold an M.D. or equivalent degree. Demonstrated academic excellence in basic or clinical research is required. Depending on qualifications, candidates will be eligible for an appointment as a Surgeon-Scientist or Surgeon-Investigator.

Commensurate with qualifications and experience, base remuneration will be in the range of $350,000 to $550,000 CAD per year for 35 hours of work per week, plus on-call responsibilities, to which an equal distribution of billing overages will be added.
