Role and Facility Information

The Fraser West Plastic Surgery group and Fraser Health are seeking a full-time plastic surgeon to join an established and collegial regional group. The ideal applicant will have fellowship or advanced post-graduate training in breast reconstruction and microsurgery, with a strong commitment to the maintenance and long-term growth of our Immediate Breast Microsurgical Reconstruction Program. The successful applicant will also maintain a broad General Plastic Surgery practice, including hand surgery, trauma, skin cancer management and other reconstructive surgery.

The position comes with established resources, including shared office(s) within a collegial group of eight established plastic surgeons, together with excellent staff and EMR support. Hospital resources include main operating room, ambulatory care, cast clinic, minor surgery, trauma and elective time. Private surgery centre access is also available, with opportunities to perform MSP cases in private facilities. Additional sites may be included depending on clinical coverage and resource allocation.

Surrey Memorial Hospital and the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre are part of Fraser Health. Call is shared regionally, including coverage with the Royal Columbian Hospital group - the regional trauma centre. Plastic surgery call responsibilities are approximately 1 in 11, with opportunities to increase call participation if desired.

Additionally, as a member of the Fraser Health medical staff, you will participate in the University of British Columbia (UBC) medical education program and are expected to apply for a clinical faculty appointment in the Division of Plastic Surgery, UBC.

Surrey is one of British Columbia's largest and fastest-growing communities, with ready access to Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. The region offers extensive recreational, cultural and educational opportunities.

To apply: Please forward your CV, letter of interest, and three reference letters or referee contact names (Please note references required must be professionals with whom you have worked with in the last three years. New graduates must provide a letter of reference from their residency program director or fellowship supervisor. For applicants who have been in practice for at least four years, a letter from a current or recent Chief of Surgery may be accepted in lieu of program supervisors).

Anticipated start date: March 1, 2027 or sooner.
