- Take ownership of equipment packages: develop specifications, evaluate vendor bids, manage technical queries, and coordinate with suppliers and clients.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers and designers, while still directly producing deliverables as part of the team.
- Support drafting and 3D modelling by guiding designers, while also contributing to CAD/model reviews where needed.
- Standardize and improve engineering methods, tools, and templates to build best practices within the mechanical discipline.
- Provide advanced procurement support: ensure vendor equipment meets technical and contractual requirements, and advise on risk mitigation.
- Stay actively involved in construction, installation, and commissioning, solving technical issues on-site and providing hands-on support when needed.
- Represent Primero as a subject matter expert in client interactions, technical meetings, and industry discussions, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted technical partner.

- 12+ years of experience in mechanical design for mining and mineral processing EPC/EPCM projects, with demonstrated progression to senior/principal level.
- Strong technical background in design, specification, and selection of major mechanical equipment (e.g., crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, piping, HVAC, etc.)
- Proven ability to deliver feasibility studies, detailed design, and execution support.
- Hands-on experience with engineering software and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar), including ability to review and guide drafting/modelling.
- Solid knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations (ASME, CEMA, CSA, API, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management, equipment package development, and procurement support.
- Strong site experience: installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field support.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide engineers and designers, while still actively contributing to deliverables.
- Commercial awareness: able to balance technical quality, schedule, and budget in project decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to represent the company with clients, vendors, and industry stakeholders.
