Full company description

Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100M homes across North America away from burning fossil fuels to sustainable energy use. Here at Jetson, we believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better. Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, which can be dramatically reduced by converting to heat pumps, however, adoption lags due to high cost and friction in the retrofit process today. Solving one layer of the value chain won’t move the needle on adoption. Mass adoption will come when it becomes a no-brainer for homeowners to transition. That is why Jetson is building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company. Jetson makes it simple, transparent and affordable for everyone to get a heat pump.

About Jetson

Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy use. We believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better.

Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, yet adoption of solutions like heat pumps remains slow due to cost and complexity. Jetson is solving this by building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company — making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable.

We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. At Jetson, we value people who are excellent at their craft, curious about new tools (including AI), and motivated to continuously improve how work gets done.

The Opportunity:

You own Jetson's procure-to-pay cycle end to end: purchase order through receipt, invoice, approval, payment and month-end. You lead a small team, make the calls that move the AP position, and keep our P2P controls tight as we add markets, vendors and volume. You are the person the CFO and Controller rely on for an accurate AP balance at Working Day 7 and a payment run they can approve with confidence every Friday. We run as two entities, Jetson Home Inc. in Canada and Jetson Home Corporation in the US, and you will help support both.

What You Will Do:

Run the cycle

  • Own the three-way match (PO, item receipt, vendor invoice) and the exception process, with mismatches resolved or escalated within 24 hours.
  • Prepare the weekly AP aging and payment proposal for CFO approval; execute the approved batch through Tipalti and the bank, and confirm it settled.
  • Manage vendor prepayments, credits and off-cycle payments, and keep the unapplied prepayment balance current.
  • Oversee the daily cash position across CAD and USD accounts and the funding transfers between RBC, SVB, Float and Tipalti.

Close the month

  • Deliver the P2P close tasks on the Finance Critical Task Calendar: accrued purchases (GRNI) clearing, operating expense and uninvoiced AP accruals, prepaid amortisation, FX revaluation, fixed asset entries and intercompany payables.
  • Own reconciliations for AP, accrued purchases, Tipalti and Float clearing accounts, and the bank accounts, with clean support for audit.
  • Agree intercompany payables and funding between the Canadian and US entities with the AR side.

Strengthen controls and systems

  • Set and document approval thresholds, match tolerances, payment cut-offs and escalation paths, aligned to the delegation of authority.
  • Build compensating controls for segregation of duties: payment release, vendor master changes and direct-entry bills.
  • Own the vendor master, supplier codes and vendor bank-detail change control with Procurement and Business Systems.
  • Partner with Business Systems on the Tipalti, Float and NetSuite integrations: raise defects, test changes in Sandbox, and push match rates up.
  • Keep SOP-FIN-003, 007 and 008 current, and support the external audit team (PBC requests, walkthroughs).

Lead the team

  • Hire, coach and set priorities for the AP Specialist, P2P Accountants and co-op students.
  • Build cross-training and named backups so no key task has a single point of failure.

What You Bring:

  • CPA designation preferred. 6+ years in accounting, including 3+ years running AP or procure-to-pay.
  • 2+ years leading people.
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience; Tipalti, Float or similar AP automation and credit card tools are a strong plus.
  • Solid grasp of accruals, GRNI, prepayments, multi-currency (CAD/USD) and intercompany accounting under US GAAP.
  • A controls mindset: you know what good evidence looks like and can design a practical control for a small team.
  • Comfort with Canadian GST/PST and US sales tax on vendor invoices.
  • Experience in a high-growth, multi-entity, field-services, construction or inventory-heavy business is an asset.
  • Able to work primarily in office at our North Vancouver location.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Benefits:

  • Dental Care, Vision Care & Life Insurance premiums fully paid by Jetson
  • Extended Health Care
  • Disability Insurance
  • Education Support
