Job description

Enterprise AI is moving from pilots to production, and the constraint is no longer the model — it's the data. Agents are only as good as what they can sense, trust, and act on in the moment, and real-time, event-driven data is becoming the foundation every serious AI system runs on.

Solace is the leading platform for the enterprise AI era. Established enterprises worldwide — including RBC Capital Markets, Bosch, Heineken, PSA Singapore, United Airlines, Schwarz Group, and hundreds more — have built their business around Solace to enable intelligent, real-time experiences, modernize their application and integration landscape, and create seamless digital journeys for their customers, partners, and employees.

So, the next time you drive a car, order furniture online, fly in a plane, check your bank balance on your phone, your positive experience could be a direct result of our technology—and your hard work!

Overview

This position is for a Procurement Analyst, a new role at Solace, with the opportunity to build the function from the ground up and have an immediate impact on the overall operations of the Company. A key member of the Finance Team, you will work cross-functionally to drive procurement policy, approval workflows, and make sure every dollar we spend is validated, budgeted, and well negotiated. We are a high-growth company that encourages creative thinking. If you are looking to continue your career in the technology industry, are full of energy, like working in a fluid and fast-paced environment and have excellent attention to detail, then we should speak.

In This Role, You Will

  • Own, document, and maintain Solace’s procurement policy, including purchasing thresholds, approval requirements, and vendor selection standards;
  • Build and maintain purchase requisition and approval workflows in NetSuite;
  • Partner with all departments on purchasing, including cloud infrastructure, software subscriptions and renewals, marketing programs, professional fees, training, IT equipment and facilities;
  • Work with requisitioners to validate spend requirements and assess each request against budget and forecast;
  • Negotiate vendor terms, including pricing and discounts, renewals, term length, payment terms, billing frequency, and annual increases;
  • Work closely with the Legal team and our contract management tool to keep existing contracts, renewals, and amendments current, and ensure Legal review before signing;
  • Research, identify, and track government grants, tax credits, and other funding programs that could offset eligible costs, and work with Finance and requestors to support applications and documentation;
  • Identify unused, duplicate, and shadow-IT software licenses to drive cost savings and consolidation;
  • Track and report on spend, savings achieved, spend under management, and policy compliance to Finance leadership;
  • Train requisitioners on the purchasing process and maintain simple guides and procedures;
  • Special projects as assigned

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, vendor management, or a related finance role is a must;
  • Proven track record of researching market pricing and standard discount levels for each type of purchase (goods or services) to validate the buyer is paying at or below market standard;
  • Demonstrated success negotiating vendor pricing and terms, with measurable savings achieved (e.g., reductions at renewal, discounts secured, or terms improved);
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel experience is a must;
  • NetSuite purchasing and approval workflow experience is preferred;
  • Experience purchasing software/SaaS, IT equipment, marketing programs, and professional services is preferred;
  • Post-secondary degree in business, finance, or supply chain;
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools (e.g., Claude) to enhance spend analysis, contract review, reporting, and process automation is a plus;
  • Experience with multi-national vendors and cross-border taxes is a plus;
  • High attention to accuracy and detail in working processes and reports;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • You must be able to work onsite in Kanata two days per week, Tuesday & Wednesday
