Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager – Spark based in Canada.

We’re looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the development and growth of an innovative project type designed for the next generation of AI-powered software development. As AI agents create more applications, prototypes, and experiments, developers need backend infrastructure that is instantly available, cost-effective, and able to scale with their needs. In this role, you’ll define the product strategy for Spark projects, making it easy for agents and the platforms they operate on to provision and use backend resources from the very beginning. You’ll also shape the journey from early experimentation to production, helping projects evolve into larger, more capable workloads. Working across Product, Engineering, Growth, and Finance, you’ll influence product experience, pricing, and long-term scalability. This is an opportunity to build a new product offering within a globally distributed, remote-first, open-source-oriented environment.

Accountabilities

Own the product strategy and roadmap for Spark projects, guiding development from the initial MVP through general availability.

  • Make Spark seamless for AI agents and the platforms they run on, ensuring backend infrastructure is available as soon as an idea or application is created.

  • Define the user journey from experimentation to production, including how projects are claimed, upgraded, and expanded across the broader platform.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Growth, and Finance to develop packaging and pricing strategies that remain sustainable and economical at significant scale.

  • Work closely with platform customers to understand their requirements, validate opportunities, and introduce Spark to relevant use cases.

  • Establish clear success metrics, implement end-to-end product instrumentation, and use data and insights to guide prioritization and future development.

  • Continuously evaluate product performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

  • Requirements:

    • At least 5 years of Product Management experience in developer tools or infrastructure, or previous founder experience demonstrating strong product judgment and execution.

    • A clear understanding of agent-driven development and how AI agents are changing the infrastructure and backend needs of developers and software platforms.

    • Familiarity with AI evaluations, controlled experimentation, and data analysis, with the ability to use evidence to inform product decisions.

    • A strong bias toward action, with a preference for shipping, learning, and iterating quickly rather than over-investing in detailed specifications.

    • A hands-on approach to product development, including actively using the tools and products you manage to build informed opinions.

    • Experience using AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and feedback synthesis, while maintaining strong independent judgment.

    • Excellent written communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to work asynchronously and document decisions clearly in a fully remote environment.

    • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, evolving product environment that requires autonomy, adaptability, and close cross-functional collaboration.

    • Benefits:

      • Fully remote work: Work from anywhere, with no requirement to attend a company office.

      • Co-working support: Access to a WeWork membership or co-working allowance to support your preferred working environment.

      • Equity ownership: Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP), giving every team member an opportunity to share in the company's growth.

      • Technology allowance: Budget to equip your workspace with the technology and tools you need, such as a laptop, monitor, or headphones.

      • Health coverage: 100% of employee health insurance costs covered, along with 80% coverage for dependents, wherever you are.

      • Annual team off-sites: Opportunities to meet colleagues in person through a week-long company gathering in a different city each year.

      • Flexible working arrangements: An asynchronous work culture that gives you autonomy to manage your schedule and priorities.

      • Professional development: Annual education allowance for courses, books, conferences, and other learning opportunities.

How Jobgether works:

We use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements. Our system identifies the top-fitting candidates, and this shortlist is then shared directly with the hiring company. The final decision and next steps (interviews, assessments) are managed by their internal team.

We appreciate your interest and wish you the best!
