About Spartakus, a company of Reliability Solutions
Reliability Solutions helps industrial organizations improve reliability, maintenance performance and workforce capability through hands-on training, reliability services and technology.
Founded in 2003, our approach is practical and results driven. We help organizations build lasting capabilities that improve performance.
Position summary
We are looking for a Public Training & Events Manager to grow our public training program and run our external events.
Your main goal will be to increase registration and revenue for our public reliability and maintenance courses. You will own the strategy and the results: deciding where and when to offer courses, how to promote them, and what to change when classes aren't filling. You'll work with Marketing, Sales and our instructors to build a program that grows year over year.
You'll also manage our webinars, conferences, trade shows, and events with customers, partners and industry organizations, from first plan to post-event follow-up.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, commercially minded and comfortable owning results.
Travel: Up to 10–15% of the time, mainly to the United States
Key responsibilities
Grow public training (main focus)
- Own the growth strategy for our public courses, including which courses to offer, where, when and in what format (in person or virtual).
- Build and lead promotional plans to increase registrations, working with Marketing on execution.
- Track registrations for every course and act early when a class is under target.
- Identify new markets, partners, formats and course opportunities that can grow the program.
- Work with Sales to turn course participants into longer-term customer relationships.
Run webinars, conferences and events
- Coordinate our participation in conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, speaking opportunities and partner initiatives.
- Plan and deliver webinars, customer events and partner events.
- Manage logistics, including venues, vendors, registrations, materials, equipment, speakers, instructors, travel and attendee communications.
- Manage relationships with conference organizers, customers, partners, vendors, instructors and other external contacts.
- Make sure leads from every event are captured and handed to Sales, and that follow-up happens on time.
Plan, budget and report
- Own the annual and rolling calendar of public courses, webinars, conferences and events, planning several months ahead.
- Manage program and event budgets and measure results against the investment.
- Report on registrations, attendance, revenue, leads and costs, and recommend what to change.
- Run post-event reviews and apply what you learn to future programs.
How success is measured
Primary: growth in public course registrations and revenue.
Also measured on:
- Webinar registrations and attendance
- Event results against budget
- Leads and opportunities delivered to Sales
- Planning ahead and keeping the calendar on track
- Post-event reviews and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years in events, training programs, B2B marketing or a related field.
- A track record of growing registrations, attendance or revenue for a program, course or event series. Be ready to share the numbers.
- Experience managing events, vendors, budgets and external partners, with several projects running at once.
- Comfort using data to see what's working and recommend what to change.
- Ability to travel to the United States up to 10–15% of the time.
Assets
- Experience with CRM, email marketing, webinar or event-management platforms.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, technical training or B2B services.
Benefits
- Medical and dental coverage
- Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
- RRSP matching program
- Employee Shareholder Program
- Hybrid work model (3 days in the office)
The person we're looking for
You take ownership and think ahead. You're organized, but what drives you is the result behind every course and event.
You naturally ask: Are registrations where they should be? Is this course being promoted in the right places? What should we try next quarter to fill more seats? Were the leads handed to Sales, and what did they turn into?
Most importantly, you don't wait to be told. You spot what's coming, make a plan and move it forward.
This role requires the ability to communicate in English. It involves regular contact with clients in Atlantic Canada, travel to the United States, and work with US-based suppliers, partners and conference organizers.
