  • Conduct trade-off studies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze strategic scenarios to assess operational opportunities.
  • Align long-term plans with short- and mid-term objectives for seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with Mine Geology and Metallurgy to meet plant blending targets.
  • Work with Mine Geology to convert resources into reserves.
  • Mentor and supervise engineering staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Evaluate new technologies to enhance underground safety and productivity.
  • Actively promote safe production by implementing engineering best practices in mine design (production and reticulation).
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration with other mine site departments and personnel to optimize overall mine site operations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive stope reconciliation program and support accurate mine reconciliation.
  • Prepare production reports with key metrics, risks, and performance analysis.
  • Standardize and regularly review planning and production processes for consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage operational changes using formal change management protocols with proper documentation.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or a related field.
  • 7+ years underground hard rock mining experience; supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Saskatchewan or eligible for registration with APEGS.
  • Strong grasp of mining operations, business drivers, and underground infrastructure systems.
  • Proficient in Deswik (Sched, UGDB, CAD, IS) and Microsoft 365 tools.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, and decision-making with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Adaptable in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Deep understanding of underground safety regulations and commitment to safety culture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.

Our comprehensive benefits package includes:

  • Employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life and disability insurance
  • RSP with company match

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.

The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.
