MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 15,000 customers, including McDonalds, Michaels, Cintas, Redimix, and U.S. LBM, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 16 million managed assets and 92 million completed work orders.
In August 2026 MaintainX became part of Autodesk, joining Autodesk Operations Solutions, the organization unifying Autodesk's operations platform alongside Tandem, FlexSim and Fusion Operations. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design. Autodesk had design and make. Operate is the phase that tells you what actually happened, and it is ours.
You'd be joining our Mobile Platform team within the Platform Engineering division.
We're building an AI-native platform for our internal developers, over 150 of them, guided by a single question: does this shorten the time from idea to value, for the teams building on our platform and for the customers they ultimately serve?
The smooth path is the safe, fast path, because the platform makes it the default. We build the route that maximizes AI acceleration.
You'll shape the technical direction for how Mobile features get built, shipped, and operated across the engineering org, not just for one team.
What you’ll do
Define and drive the multi-year technical strategy, governance and architecture for our mobile platform, balancing near-term developer pain with long-term scalability.
Design and build critical foundations and tooling that power our Mobile app, and set the bar for quality through hands-on contributions to the hardest problems.
Lead the consolidation and evolution of platform primitives: SDKs, CI pipelines, build tooling, release trains, observability, and agentic development golden paths.
Champion AI-native ways of working, embedding AI workflows into your own practice, into the platform, and into how our feature teams build and ship.
Raise engineering excellence standards across the organization through architectural reviews, RFCs, and technical mentorship of senior engineers and tech leads.
Partner with Platform Engineering managers across multiple teams to set priorities, shape roadmaps, and align on cross-team technical direction.
Define success metrics for the platform (adoption, build times, release velocity, developer satisfaction) and use them to guide investment and communicate impact.
Present technical priorities, trade-offs, and results to executive stakeholders, and collaborate daily with engineering leaders across the company.
About you
10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in mobile engineering, with a track record of technical leadership at the staff, principal, or equivalent level.
A strong AI-native mindset. You've brought AI-assisted workflows into a platform or org, not just your own workflow.
Deep expertise in React Native, including its architecture, performance, and native integration (iOS and Android).
Proven success designing and driving adoption of shared modules, SDKs, and reusable components used across many teams.
Strong expertise in Mobile foundations: CI/CD, build systems, release management, code signing and distribution, and mobile observability.
A history of influencing technical direction across teams and organizations without relying on formal authority, including leading cross-team initiatives from proposal to adoption.
A product mindset toward internal platforms: you understand your customers, measure adoption, and make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.
Excellent mentorship and communication skills, with the ability to coach senior engineers and translate complex technical topics for executive audiences.
Expert-level English, spoken and written, as you’ll lead platform engineering managers across multiple teams, present technical priorities to executive stakeholders, and align daily with engineering leaders outside Québec.
Our mission is to keep the physical world running. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using. That is what we build.
Compensation and benefits. Base pay is one part of the package. Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. Benefits differ by country. For roles in the United States, Autodesk’s benefits are described at benefits.autodesk.com. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
Belonging. We take pride in a culture where everyone can thrive. More at autodesk.com/company/global-belonging. More on where this is going: Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost on building the future of connected operations, and AOS SVP Stephen Hooper on welcoming MaintainX to Autodesk.
