Job description

As Senior Production & Sourcing Manager, you will own the production and delivery of seasonal multi-product menswear and womenswear collections, working with existing vendors in Asia and further developing the vendor base. You will be the brand's voice with its factories, and the factories' voice inside the business.

Reporting to the CEO, working cross-functionally with Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Merchandising, Planning and Logistics.

This position is ideal for an experienced US or Canada-based Production & Sourcing Manager with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in premium fashion, including 3 years in a management-level role. Established relationships with factories in Asia and Europe are essential, specialising in wovens, cut & sew jersey, sweaters, dresses, coats, jackets and denim.

Full working rights to live and work in Canada or the US.

What You'll Be Doing

Production & Delivery

  • Own the production critical path for each season, from handover and order placement through bulk production to ex-factory and delivery.

  • Manage production across multiple categories, raw materials and factories at once, keeping each delivery window on track.

  • Monitor work in progress weekly, anticipating delays in materials, capacity or approvals and resolving them before they reach the calendar.

  • Coordinate with Logistics on shipping modes, consolidation and routing to protect in-store and online launch dates.

  • Report delivery status, risks and solutions clearly to senior leadership.

Sourcing & Vendor Partnerships

  • Manage existing factories in China, Vietnam and Cambodia ensuring product suitability, quality standards, lead times, minimums and cost.

  • Identify, assess, trial and onboard new factories and regions (Europe) to support product evolution.

  • Lead vendor allocation each season, placing every style with the right factory based on product specialism, capacity, cost and lead time.

  • Hold regular business reviews with vendors, using scorecards for delivery, quality, cost and responsiveness.

  • Seasonal travel to visit new and existing factories for production reviews and vendor development.

Costing, Quality & Compliance

  • Lead production cost negotiations with factories, building on the initial prices obtained in development and delivering target margins while protecting quality and long-term partnerships.

  • Manage the impact of duties, tariffs, freight and currency on landed cost, and advise on country of origin strategy.

  • Set and uphold quality standards in bulk production, working with Technical Design and factory or third-party QC teams on inspections and corrective action.

  • Ensure vendors and factories meet the brand's social, environmental and sustainability compliance requirements.

  • Manage and negotiate lead times, minimums, and margins.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Development for a clean handover into production, with specifications, materials and development costings agreed.

  • Work with Merchandising and Planning on buy quantities, delivery flow, reorders and in-season reaction.

  • Collaborate with Technical Design on pre-production and production approvals.

  • Give Design and Product Development early visibility of factory capability, lead time and cost benchmarking.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and develop junior team members, setting clear priorities and standards.

  • Build processes, tools and reporting that scale with the business.

Essential Experience

  • Senior Production & Sourcing Manager or Head of Production with 10+ years of apparel experience. At least 3 years at a senior level.

  • Proven record of delivering multi-product premium collections on time, achieving quality and margin targets.

  • Established relationships with factories in Asia and Europe specialising in premium smart, casual and soft wovens, dresses, coats, jackets, cut & sew jersey, sweaters and denim.

  • Excellent knowledge of garment construction and production processes.

  • Skilled negotiator with a firm grasp of costing, margin, landed cost and trade terms.

  • Working knowledge of import regulations, duties and compliance for the Canadian and US markets.

  • Experience optimising and developing a vendor base for a growing brand.

  • Hands-on managing and mentoring team members.

  • Organised, decisive, calm and solution-focused.

  • Proficient in PLM and ERP systems and advanced Excel.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What's On Offer

  • A competitive salary aligned with experience.

  • Benefits package including healthcare.

  • Hybrid working 4 days in the office one day from home, based in Toronto.

  • The opportunity to help shape the next chapter of a popular Canadian brand.

Additional Requirements

  • Full working rights to live and work in Canada or the US.

  • Currently living and working in Canada or the US.
