Job description

We are seeking a Senior UX Developer to help build intuitive, accessible, and high-performing web applications. In this role, you will work at the intersection of software engineering and user experience, partnering closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and fellow Engineers to deliver modern, scalable solutions.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in React, Material UI, and Node.js, with a strong passion for creating elegant user experiences and developing maintainable, production-quality software. You will play a key role in shaping front-end architecture, influencing development standards, mentoring team members, and driving technical excellence across the product portfolio.

A key aspect of this role is partnering closely with UX and design teams to translate designs into robust, reusable component libraries and application experiences. Experience working with Figma, including leveraging design systems and design-to-code workflows to create and maintain React component libraries, is highly valued. You will help ensure consistency between design and implementation while continuously improving the efficiency and quality of the development process.

The successful candidate is also comfortable leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate prototyping, improve developer productivity, and enhance solution quality. Experience using tools such as Claude Code or similar AI coding assistants is highly desirable, including applying them to rapidly prototype user experiences, generate production-ready code, and contribute to the evolution of internal AI-powered development practices and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Front-End Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using React.
  • Implement high-quality user interfaces using Material UI and modern design system principles.
  • Translate UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into production-ready solutions.
  • Ensure applications meet accessibility (WCAG), usability, and responsive design standards.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability.

User Experience Engineering

  • Champion UX best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with UX Designers to refine workflows and interactions.
  • Participate in usability reviews and contribute to improving customer experiences.
  • Help evolve and maintain reusable UI components and design system assets.
  • Lead the definition and integration of a design system into the development workflow.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers across the team.
  • Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
  • Drive frontend architectural discussions and contribute to technical roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development processes, automation, and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing modern web applications using React.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Experience building component-based user interfaces with Material UI or equivalent design systems.
  • Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
  • Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and UX best practices.
  • Excellent communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing enterprise design systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, TestCafe, or Playwright.
  • Experience with Storybook and Chromatic.
  • Experience with AI coding tools.
