ABOUT US

STRIVE is a specialist recruitment firm offering professional recruitment services across Accounting & Finance, Corporate Administration, Operations, and Technology. We pride ourselves on delivering a highly personalized, transparent, and relationship-driven recruitment experience for both clients and candidates. At STRIVE, we don’t just fill roles - we partner with organizations and individuals to build long-term success.

THE ROLE

Our client is an established organization serving customers across the North American market, with a focus on delivering reliable solutions and maintaining high standards of quality, service, and operational efficiency. The company offers a collaborative work environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and workplace safety are essential to daily operations.

Our client is looking for a Shipping and Logistics Coordinator with previous international customs clearance experience to join their team and support day-to-day warehouse and supply chain activities. This position runs Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, requiring flexibility for overtime.

This position is 95% indoors and 5% outdoors; while providing paperwork to drivers and coordinating shipments. It is 75% administrative and data entry, and 25% Shipping/Receiving, operating a forklift and moving materials around the warehouse. This role requires an experienced forklift driver who can navigate loads in narrow spaces.

This individual will be responsible for coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing shipping documentation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring goods are handled, packaged, and dispatched efficiently.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal departments, transportation providers, suppliers, and customers to ensure materials are received and shipped accurately and on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods, ensuring shipments are processed accurately and within required timelines.
  • Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and accompanying documentation to confirm quantities and product accuracy.
  • Prepare, package, label, and secure materials for shipment according to customer requirements and transportation guidelines.
  • Complete shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, customs paperwork, and other relevant records.
  • Arrange transportation and communicate with courier companies and freight carriers regarding pickup schedules, delivery instructions, and shipment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming, stored, and outgoing materials to support inventory control and reporting.
  • Conduct inventory counts and monitor available storage space to ensure materials are organized and accounted for.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, damaged goods, shortages, and other delivery-related concerns in collaboration with suppliers and transportation providers.
  • Move materials between departments using a forklift and, at times, an overhead crane to follow established procedures.
  • Assemble and arrange products into suitable configurations for safe loading, transportation, and delivery.
  • Maintain organized storage, loading, and work areas to promote safe and efficient warehouse operations.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies, including the appropriate use of PPE and safe equipment operation.
  • Participate in safety training, emergency drills, and workplace hazard identification activities.
  • Immediately report workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and potential hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support warehouse and supply chain operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, or a related position.
  • International shipping coordination experience is a strong asset.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and ERP systems, as well as comfort completing manual handwritten data entry accurately.
  • Familiarity with major courier and freight providers, including their shipping software and online platforms.
  • Previous or current experience operating counterbalance forklifts managing large heavy loads.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to verify shipment information, maintain accurate records, and identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet shipping deadlines.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to communicate professionally with internal teams, vendors, carriers, and customers.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and managing company information responsibly.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, equipment-handling procedures, and the proper use of PPE.
  • Physically capable of regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing hands-on warehouse duties.
  • Dependable, cooperative, and safety-conscious, with the ability to contribute positively to a team-oriented environment.

COMPENSATION:

  • $52,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.
  • Health benefits including dental, and vision, as well as long-term disability.
  • RRSP matching
  • And more!
