Position summary

Own the technical sales strategy for SmartTrace across NAM and initially support opportunities globally. Work alongside Chemelex sales representatives and channel partners to develop and manage strategic industrial facilities, build customer relationships, design credible solutions, and drive long-term account growth across the broader heat-tracing offering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own facility-level account plans for priority sites, maintaining relationships with operations, maintenance, engineering, reliability and management stakeholders.

• Identify and advance SmartTrace opportunities at existing Raychem installations and competitive heat-tracing sites, including controller retrofits and system conversions.

• Partner with Chemelex territory sales teams, representatives and distributors on customer visits, technical discovery, demonstrations, workshops and opportunity development.

• Assess field heat-tracing systems, controllers, electrical distribution, RTDs and communications networks; recommend practical SmartTrace architectures and migration approaches.

• Lead technical input for proposals, scopes of work, demonstrations, pilots and budget estimates in coordination with engineering, product and execution teams.

• Develop the full facility opportunity beyond software: heat-tracing materials, maintenance and troubleshooting, engineering, sustaining work and capital projects.

• Track qualified opportunities, competitive positioning and account progress; coordinate clear handover from technical sales to implementation and ongoing support.

• Initially provide specialist technical-sales support outside NAM when required and share market feedback with SmartTrace product development.

Required qualifications

• Substantial industrial electrical heat-tracing experience, including systems, controllers, field installation and troubleshooting; strong working knowledge of Raychem products.

• Ability to evaluate competing heat-tracing and control solutions and explain technically sound conversion and retrofit strategies.

• Working knowledge of heat-tracing communications and integration, such as RS-485, Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet networks, gateways and industrial wireless.

• Proven customer-facing technical sales, application engineering or industrial account-development skills, including presentations and solution scoping.

• Ability and willingness to travel frequently, coordinate with regional sales teams and work independently at customer facilities.

Preferred background

• Electrical engineering, engineering technology, industrial controls or journeyperson electrician background.

• Experience with major industrial owner/operators in oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing or other process industries.

• Experience with competing control platforms, SCADA/DCS integration, maintenance workflows and complex multi-site account development.
