We are seeking an experienced building science professional with a strong background in building envelope restoration and rehabilitation to lead multidisciplinary project teams and provide technical leadership on complex restoration projects.

As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the technical quality of projects, ensuring deliverables meet WSP standards and align with client objectives, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. You will provide technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle while mentoring and developing the next generation of building science professionals.

Building Sciences is focused on helping building owners and managers understand, maintain, restore, and improve their assets. We work as trusted advisors, delivering practical, value-driven solutions backed by deep technical expertise and an understanding of the built environment.

Your Impact

As a Project Manager and Technical Lead, you will:

  • Lead building condition assessments, forensic investigations, and rehabilitation projects across commercial, institutional, residential, and mixed-use building portfolios.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex building envelope restoration projects involving masonry, concrete, stone, glazing systems, roofing, waterproofing, and sealant renewal.
  • Establish project-specific methodologies, design criteria, and quality standards that drive successful project outcomes and long-term asset performance.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through assessment, design, tendering, contract administration, construction review, and project closeout activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing risk assessments, restoration strategies, and practical recommendations that support informed decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate professionals through technical reviews, field investigations, site visits, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Strengthen client relationships and support business growth through proposal development, fee preparation, presentations, and industry engagement.
  • Champion WSP's commitment to quality, safety, environmental stewardship, collaboration, and technical excellence.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 8+ years of progressive experience delivering building sciences, restoration engineering, or building envelope projects within Ontario.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, design, and restoration of existing building envelope systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of masonry, concrete, stone, curtain wall, glazing, roofing, waterproofing, and sealant restoration practices.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario; other relevant professional designations will be considered.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary project teams through investigation, design, tendering, construction review, and contract administration phases.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including scope, schedule, budget, resource planning, and client relationship management.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, presentation, and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical decision-making.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence with a willingness to travel for site reviews, field investigations, and client meetings.
