Join a specialized testing initiative focused on modernizing document generation and Customer Communication Management (CCM) systems within the banking sector. In this role, you will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of complex document workflows across multiple output channels. You will analyze existing document logic, design comprehensive test scenarios, and implement automated comparison mechanisms to validate legacy and new systems. Working with large-scale XML data streams and substantial annual document volumes, you will contribute to integration, end-to-end, and performance testing activities. You will collaborate closely with development teams and business stakeholders to identify defects, improve quality, and support user acceptance testing. This is a part-time opportunity offering the possibility of combining responsibilities with a complementary Test Management position.
Accountabilities
Analyze existing document logic and translate business rules into detailed test cases, particularly for complex conditional scenarios involving if-then-else logic, text modules, and data enrichment.
Design and implement automated legacy-versus-new system comparisons using XML data streams generated by output systems.
Validate document content, layouts, and output formats to ensure consistency between existing and new solutions.
Create and maintain use-case-based test data, including synthetic and anonymized datasets covering relevant business scenarios.
Support the identification and documentation of document triggers and develop testing mechanisms for scheduled documents that cannot be generated manually, such as payment reminders.
Perform integration, end-to-end, performance, and volume testing, supporting workloads of approximately 100 million pages annually.
Validate document outputs across physical printing and digital distribution channels, including output control, document bundling, and job processing.
Investigate defects, document findings, and conduct regression testing in close collaboration with development teams.
Support business stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and help ensure that business requirements are met.
Demonstrated professional experience as a Test Engineer within the banking sector.
Advanced knowledge of XML, XPath, XSLT, and SQL.
Experience working with large datasets and complex data-processing environments.
ISTQB Foundation Level certification, with Advanced Test Automation Engineer certification or an equivalent qualification considered an advantage.
Knowledge of Customer Communication Management (CCM), output management, or document management systems.
Proven experience creating, managing, and maintaining test data, including data anonymization.
Experience with automated testing, system comparisons, and complex document validation processes.
Familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks such as SAFe or Scrum.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a structured and independent working style.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
A clean background and financial record, with no debt enforcement proceedings or criminal convictions.
Part-time opportunity: 50% workload, offering flexibility alongside other professional commitments.
Combined role opportunity: Possibility of combining this position with a complementary 50% Test Management role.
Remote working: Opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the world, as indicated in the job listing.

Large-scale projects: Contribute to testing processes involving approximately 100 million pages of annual document output.
Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with development teams and business stakeholders on quality assurance initiatives.
Professional development: Apply and strengthen expertise in XML technologies, automated testing, data management, and enterprise systems.
Contract flexibility: Fixed-term employment arrangement, with an expected start as soon as possible.
