Job description

Travel RN/LPN – Nova Scotia Health Talent Pool

Explore future travel nursing assignments in Nova Scotia.

Curaga Healthcare Group is building a talent pool of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) interested in potential contract assignments supporting Nova Scotia Health (NSH/NSHA) facilities. Opportunities depend on client needs, assignment requirements, and contract availability.

Assignments may be available in communities across Nova Scotia, including rural and remote locations. Schedules, specialties, contract lengths, compensation, and travel or accommodation arrangements vary by assignment. Some contracts may be extended, subject to client needs.

This is an expression of interest for future opportunities, not a posting for one immediate vacancy. Joining the talent pool does not guarantee an assignment.

What you’ll do

  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care within your designation, scope of practice, and assignment requirements.
  • Assess patients, contribute to care planning, provide nursing interventions, and evaluate responses to care.
  • Recognize and report changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
  • Administer medications and treatments as authorized and within your scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and communicate during handovers.
  • Collaborate with the client’s interdisciplinary care team.
  • Follow professional standards, infection-prevention practices, privacy requirements, and site policies.
  • Complete required site orientation before providing care.

What you’ll bring

  • Current RN or LPN licensure, or eligibility for licensure in the applicable designation with the Nova Scotia Nursing and Midwifery Regulator (NSNMR) before beginning an assignment.
  • Graduation from an approved nursing education program.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification, as required for the assignment.
  • Nursing experience relevant to the assignment; recent hospital or acute-care experience is an asset for hospital-based roles.
  • Specialty certifications may be required for specific assignments.
  • Strong assessment, communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
  • Flexibility to travel and work the schedule required for assignments you accept.
  • Willingness to complete client-specific screening, credentialing, and health-clearance requirements.

Travel assignment details

Travel and accommodation support may be available, depending on the assignment. Curaga will provide the location, schedule, contract length, compensation, and any travel or accommodation arrangements before you decide whether to accept an opportunity.

To join the talent pool, submit your résumé and include your designation, clinical experience, specialty areas, availability, preferred locations, and willingness to travel. Our recruitment team may contact you when a suitable opportunity becomes available.
