Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President, Intelligence & Impact based in Canada.

The Vice President, Intelligence & Impact will play a pivotal role in shaping organizational strategy and maximizing measurable impact within a globally focused, mission-driven environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership position brings together strategic planning, intelligence, impact evaluation, and technology-driven transformation. You will turn complex research, data, and emerging trends into actionable insights that guide critical decisions and resource allocation. You will also lead initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness through AI, automation, connected data, and innovative technologies. Working closely with senior leaders across functions and geographies, you will build a multidisciplinary team and establish systems that support continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to combine strategic leadership, analytical thinking, and technological innovation to drive meaningful, measurable change for animal welfare.

Accountabilities

Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to define organizational strategy, establish priorities, and guide resource allocation based on evidence, expected impact, and strategic objectives.

  • Evaluate the organization's global portfolio of initiatives, assessing their effectiveness, feasibility, cost-efficiency, strategic alignment, and potential to improve animal welfare outcomes.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations on which programs and initiatives should be expanded, maintained, redesigned, or discontinued, while identifying opportunities for geographic expansion, new program areas, and strategic partnerships.

  • Develop a proactive strategic intelligence function to monitor emerging trends, risks, and opportunities across animal agriculture, corporate practices, public policy, technology, and relevant markets.

  • Translate complex research, external developments, and quantitative and qualitative data into clear, actionable recommendations that support organizational strategy and systemic change.

  • Establish an organization-wide impact measurement framework, including meaningful performance indicators, evaluation methodologies, and learning mechanisms to assess effectiveness across programs and geographies.

  • Ensure that insights and evaluation findings consistently inform strategic decisions, operational improvements, and resource allocation.

  • Lead technology-enabled transformation by identifying opportunities to improve productivity and organizational effectiveness through AI, automation, integrated data systems, and emerging technologies.

  • Oversee the development, integration, and adoption of technology solutions that streamline workflows, strengthen decision-making, and improve operational performance.

  • Define and implement a practical technology roadmap, prioritizing investments according to organizational needs, expected value, scalability, and implementation feasibility.

  • Collaborate with IT to ensure technology solutions and data systems are secure, integrated, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Build and lead a lean, multidisciplinary Intelligence & Impact team covering strategy, research, impact assessment, analytics, and technology development.

  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO, offering independent perspectives, challenging assumptions, and delivering clear, decision-ready recommendations.

  • Work closely with regional and functional leaders to strengthen execution capabilities, encourage collaboration, and maintain accountability for measurable results.

  • Contribute actively to senior leadership discussions and organization-wide decision-making, fostering a culture of evidence-based thinking, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Requirements:

    • Significant senior leadership experience in strategy, organizational transformation, analytics, impact evaluation, technology, or a related discipline.

    • Proven ability to assess complex opportunities, navigate ambiguity, challenge assumptions, and translate sophisticated analysis into practical strategic decisions.

    • Strong quantitative, qualitative, financial, and operational skills, with the ability to combine analytical rigor with sound business judgment.

    • Demonstrated experience leading technology-enabled transformation initiatives, including systems development or integration, AI adoption, automation, and process optimization.

    • Experience developing and implementing performance measurement frameworks, evaluation methodologies, and data-informed decision-making processes.

    • Proven ability to build and lead multidisciplinary teams, influence senior stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographical regions.

    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify opportunities for greater efficiency, collaboration, and long-term impact.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex findings clearly and influence decisions at executive level.

    • High levels of intellectual curiosity, humility, adaptability, sound judgment, and a strong bias toward action.

    • Ability to understand how advocacy, corporate engagement, and institutional change can contribute to improving animal welfare, while remaining open to learning from subject-matter experts.

    • A genuine commitment to improving the lives of farmed animals and advancing a more compassionate and sustainable food system.

    • Experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic philanthropy, business transformation, or leadership within a mission-driven organization is particularly valuable.

    • Previous experience in animal protection is preferred but not essential. Candidates from other sectors with transferable expertise and a strong commitment to the mission are encouraged to apply.

    • Relevant academic qualifications in business, management, economics, public policy, data analytics, technology, or another related field are an advantage.

    • Benefits:

      • Competitive compensation: The expected starting annual salary range is $130,720–$150,800 for the US-based position. Compensation may be adjusted beyond this range depending on the candidate's leadership experience, specialized expertise, geographical location, and strategic capabilities.

      • International compensation: For candidates based outside the United States, including Poland, regional salary expectations and applicable benefits will be discussed during the initial interview stage.

      • Healthcare coverage: Access to comprehensive health, vision, and dental insurance at no or low cost, depending on eligibility and location.

      • Retirement savings: A 401(k) retirement plan with a dollar-for-dollar employer contribution match of up to 3.5% of annual earnings, subject to eligibility.

      • Generous paid time off: Access to paid vacation and sick leave to support work-life balance and personal well-being.

      • Remote working environment: Flexibility to work remotely in a globally minded and collaborative organization.

      • Meaningful leadership opportunity: The chance to work directly with executive leadership and influence organization-wide strategy, priorities, and resource allocation.

      • Purpose-driven work: An opportunity to apply strategic, analytical, and technological expertise toward measurable improvements in animal welfare.

      • Collaborative culture: Work alongside passionate, multidisciplinary colleagues in an environment that values innovation, authenticity, equity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

      • Professional impact: The opportunity to build a new strategic function, develop organizational capabilities, and introduce innovative approaches that strengthen long-term effectiveness.
