Job description

Warehouse/Project Coordinator

HCS Contracting | London, Ontario
Job Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Entry Level

Looking to Start Your Career in Construction?

HCS Contracting is looking for a motivated, reliable, and organized individual to join our London team as a Warehouse / Project Coordinator. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to get their foot in the door in the construction and renovation industry. Whether you're a recent graduate, a co-op student, or someone looking to build a new career, we're more interested in your attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn than years of experience. Working directly with our Regional Manager, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting renovation projects, coordinating materials, working with trades and suppliers, and helping keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly.

No extensive experience is required. We'll provide guidance and support as you learn and grow into the role.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a varied, hands-on position that combines warehouse responsibilities with project coordination.

Warehouse & Materials

  • Receive, organize, and maintain construction materials and inventory.
  • Prepare materials and supplies for upcoming renovation projects.
  • Help coordinate material deliveries and ensure project teams have what they need.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse.

Project Coordination

  • Assist the Regional Manager with coordinating apartment suite turnovers and renovation projects.
  • Communicate with trades, suppliers, and site personnel to help keep projects on schedule.
  • Assist with tracking project progress, materials, and schedules.
  • Support site visits, measurements, and project documentation.
  • Help prepare quotes, work orders, and other project-related information.
  • Learn the day-to-day processes involved in managing construction and renovation projects.

As you become more comfortable in the role, you'll have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and develop your project coordination skills.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable balancing hands-on tasks with administrative and organizational responsibilities. Ideally, you have:

  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with different people.
  • A willingness to learn and take direction.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
  • Basic computer skills and comfort learning new software.
  • A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.

Experience in construction, renovations, warehousing, building maintenance, or project coordination is an asset, but not required.

We welcome applications from recent graduates, co-op students, and candidates who are looking for an opportunity to learn a new industry.

Why Join HCS Contracting?

At HCS, you'll have the opportunity to learn directly from an experienced Regional Manager, gain practical industry knowledge, and build a foundation for a career in construction and project management. You'll be part of a growing company where your contribution matters and where there's room to develop your skills and take on new challenges over time.
