Job description

THE WORK

You've Never Been Satisfied with “Good Enough.”

You didn't get into this to manage one piece of a project. You got into it to change how the world gets built.

At Accenture Construct, that's the job. You'll help deliver the data centers, power grids, rail networks, factories and public infrastructure that keep communities moving — smarter, safer and more sustainably.

You'll work alongside people who think big and act bold: project managers, engineers, technologists and strategists who pair real-world delivery with AI. And you won't be handed a slice of it. We take on whole programs, from early strategy through construction and handover, and we stand behind how they land.

Because “good enough” builds the past. You're here to build what's next.

(Internal Title: Project Management IV)

  • Leads day-to-day delivery and serves as the Utility's primary working-level point of contact. Manages scope, schedule, budget, resources, deliverables, risks, issues, workshops, data requests, and communications. Integrates technical, operational, financial, and strategic workstreams into a coordinated set of recommendations.
  • Leads development of the long-term meter asset management and replacement strategy. Integrates meter age, condition, accuracy, reliability, failure risk, technology obsolescence, operational impacts, and lifecycle requirements into a risk-based replacement framework. Develops prioritization criteria, annual replacement targets, program phasing, and implementation roadmap.
  • Evaluates how the recommended meter strategy will affect future organization, workforce, processes, governance, and service delivery. Assesses internal versus contractor delivery approaches, roles and capabilities, decision rights, organizational impacts, and transition requirements.
  • Develop new project or program plans and expectations in consultation with and delegating deliverables to stakeholders, including clients
  • Determine and manage the human and material resources required to complete assigned projects successfully
  • Exercise authority in managing the work and control the delivery of the projects per project plans
  • Monitor and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
  • Evaluate the project's effectiveness by consulting with clients and other stakeholders
  • Establish and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to various audiences, including the project team, client executives, key stakeholders, and Operations
  • Lead scope change negotiations
  • Oversee ongoing quality control, participate in quality issue resolution, and manage internal quality control checks for the project
  • Define success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project and program life cycle

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hybrid for the first 3 months and then primarily remote.
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 10+ years of experience in utility, infrastructure, or large-scale transformation programs, with expertise in project and program management, water utility strategy and operations, asset management, capital planning, and organizational transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of risk-based asset management, asset criticality and condition assessment, lifecycle planning, replacement prioritization, capital investment planning, utility operating models, service delivery, governance, workforce strategy, process redesign, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules, budgets, deliverables, risks, and stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and deliver executive reporting. Experience translating technical, operational, and organizational insights into actionable investment strategies, optimized operating models, and utility modernization initiatives.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in Project Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Knowledge of water utility operations, metering, AMI, and asset modernization programs
  • Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
  • Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in Project Management software
  • Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
  • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
  • Proven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks
  • Expert ability to detect, capitalize, and be sensitive to others' strengths
  • Demonstrated capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity
  • Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
  • Effectively leads multi-resource Project Management teams
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
  • Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Proven success in providing on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones

What's in it for you

  • The biggest builds going. Hyperscale data centers, grid and generation, transit and rail, chip fabs, mines, water. If it's complex and it matters, it's on our list.
  • You own the outcome. Not a workstream. Not a deliverable. Whether the program lands.
  • AI that shows up on site. Program control that predicts instead of records. You'll use it, and you'll help shape it.
  • Scale without the distance. More than 5,000 practitioners across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, on a team small enough that people know your name.
  • Serious investment in you. Leadership development, technical upskilling and certification support.
  • Work that outlasts you. People will use what you build for forty years without knowing your name. That's the point.
  • Recognition that means something in this industry. Accenture Construct is ranked #6 globally in ENR's 2026 Top 50 Program Management Firms and #4 in Building Design + Construction's Top 80 Construction Management Firms for 2026.
