The firm provides accounting and bookkeeping services to a diverse client base across a range of industries. Working closely with the firm's leadership, the Accounting Manager will oversee client engagements, review files, mentor team members and contribute to the effective day-to-day management of the practice.

Flexibility is a key feature of this opportunity. Both full-time and part-time arrangements will be considered, depending on the successful candidate's experience and preferences. The position is primarily in-office, with the potential for a hybrid arrangement. With a supportive team environment and a focus on maintaining a manageable workload, this is an opportunity to enjoy a rewarding accounting career while making the most of life in the Okanagan.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and managing client engagements, including reviewing files prepared by other team members;
  • Providing guidance, mentorship and training to team members;
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships;
  • Preparing engagement files as needed, including those involving more complex accounting matters;
  • Supporting practice management, including employee scheduling, workflow coordination and tracking important deadlines.

Requirements

What you bring:

  • A Canadian CPA designation is preferred, though candidates with equivalent experience and the necessary skills will also be considered;
  • At least three years of public accounting experience in a management or senior-level role;
  • Experience reviewing compilation engagements, corporate tax returns and personal tax returns;
  • Proficiency with CaseWare and Profile or similar tax software;
  • Experience working with clients across a variety of industries;
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Sound professional judgment, decision-making and problem-solving abilities;
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment;
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.

Why consider this opportunity?

In addition to a robust benefits package, the base salary for this position is anticipated to be $85,000 - $105,000 annually and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

The firm offers a positive, collaborative work environment where team members are supported in their professional growth and encouraged to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Additional benefits include annual CPA membership dues and support for ongoing professional development. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced accounting professional who enjoys supporting a team, building client relationships and taking an active role in the success of a growing practice. Whether you are looking for a full-time leadership position or a part-time arrangement that better fits your lifestyle, the firm is open to discussing a structure that works for the right candidate.

If you are looking for a rewarding next step in your public accounting career with a supportive team and flexibility to enjoy everything the Okanagan has to offer, we would love to hear from you.
