Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 3 to 12 located in Canada’s capital and on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. We serve a diverse community, including students from over 60 nationalities from the National Capital Region, the diplomatic community, and international boarding and day students.

Our mission is to inspire students in a dynamic learning environment to be intellectually curious, compassionate, and engaged global citizens. Our strategic direction is centered on the highest standards in teaching and learning, whole-student development, access and inclusion within our pluralistic community, community engagement, and resource stewardship for long-term sustainability.

Located in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is seeking a School Bus Driver for our dynamic student educational and co-curricular programs. Joining our small team of professional School Bus Drivers, you will be responsible for driving one of our 22-passenger School Buses to and from educational field trips, athletic games and tournaments, community support programs, and other activities and events. This is a part-time, indefinite-term position with flexible shifts.

Our students have a well-earned reputation for being well-behaved, respectful, and courteous.

Some important details:

  • The safety of our students and staff is Ashbury College’s number one priority, so you will be required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check(if you don’t possess a current record check, Ashbury College will pay for this). Further, MTO Driver’s record checks are conducted by Ashbury College to ensure that you maintain a clean driving record.
  • Shift periods typically vary throughout the school day and through the late afternoon. Shifts also include occasional early evenings and weekends, and very occasionally driving outside of the National Capital Region and/or overnight travel. You would work an average of 5+ shifts per week.
  • The shift schedule is usually provided with 2 weeks' advance notice. Your availability is very important.
  • Liability and Collision insurance is provided by Ashbury College.

Ashbury College provides a competitive compensation package including:

  • 3 hours minimum pay per shift
  • 30 additional minutes per shift are provided for the completion of the vehicle circle check.
  • Shifts start from departure time and end upon return to Ashbury College
  • On occasions when there is an hour or more between students' drop-off and pick-up, the shift is calculated over 6 hours. (3 for dropping off / 3 for picking up).

The compensation for this role will be $25/hour. You are encouraged to visit us at ashbury.ca to learn more about our facilities, internationalism, community engagement, and school values and culture.
