Job description

Express Employment Professionals is proud to partner with a public accounting firm to recruit a Client Information Coordinator for their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience working in a public accounting firm who enjoys the industry and understands what goes into preparing year-end and personal tax files, but prefers client communication, organization, and administration over preparing the accounting or tax files themselves.

The Client Information Coordinator will play an important role in keeping files moving by communicating with clients, following up on outstanding information, organizing documentation, and ensuring accountants and tax preparers have everything they need to complete their work.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact clients to request information and documentation required for year-end and personal tax files and follow up regularly on outstanding items and deadlines
  • Review and organize client documentation, identifying missing or unusual items and ensuring files are complete and ready for the accounting team
  • Maintain checklists and tracking systems for outstanding client information
  • Communicate with accountants and tax preparers regarding client responses, missing information, and potential issues
  • Communicate with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regarding routine administrative matters, including obtaining information and following up on requests
  • Respond to routine client questions and escalate accounting or tax-related questions when appropriate
  • Provide reception and front-desk coverage as required, including answering phones and greeting clients
  • Prepare client packages and assist with electronic and paper filing
  • Provide administrative support to the management and accounting teams
  • Assist with additional office projects and administrative duties as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a public accounting firm is required
  • An understanding of the information and documentation required to complete year-end and personal tax files
  • Previous experience with CaseWare is a strong asset
  • Experience working through the personal tax cycle is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple files, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to contact clients by phone and email and follow up persistently for outstanding information
  • Able to recognize when information is missing, incomplete, or requires further clarification
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn accounting and document-management software
  • Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a small office environment
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently while supporting a team

Our client offers:

  • $50,000–$60,000/year, depending on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 7.5-hour workday
  • Flexible scheduling, with employees generally expected to be available in the office between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm
  • Opportunity to work from home up to two days per week when responsibilities allow
  • Medical benefits
  • RRSP program
  • Free on-site parking
  • A relaxed but professional, supportive work environment
  • A stable, long-term position with the opportunity to continue learning within the public accounting industry
