In this role, you will partner closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to create compelling internal and external communications that connect associates, clients, media, and key stakeholders to ADP's priorities and purpose. You will lead communications initiatives from strategy through execution, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, audience-focused, and aligned with corporate standards.

The role supports a broad range of communications activities across Canada, including executive communications, change communications, organizational announcements, associate engagement campaigns, issues and crisis communications, thought leadership, media relations support, and national business initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute communications plans that support Canadian business priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Create and manage engaging content across multiple channels, including associate communications, leadership messages, newsletters, intranet content, presentations, videos, and digital campaigns.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to business leaders and senior executives across Canada.
  • Lead the planning and execution of organizational change communications to support business transformation and drive associate engagement.
  • Support executive visibility and leadership communications, including town halls, key announcements, speaking engagements, and employee events.
  • Partner with Corporate Communications, HR, Legal, Operations, Client Services, and business units to ensure coordinated and aligned messaging.
  • Develop communications strategies and materials related to business continuity, client-impacting events, issues management, and crisis communications as required.
  • Manage the creation and deployment of timely internal and external communications during operational incidents or high-priority business situations.
  • Ensure all communications meet ADP brand, editorial, accessibility, and bilingual requirements.
  • Coordinate translation needs and oversee the development of French-language communications to ensure effective engagement across Canada.
  • Measure communication effectiveness using engagement metrics and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage content calendars, communication channels, and associated governance processes.
  • Support national communications campaigns, employer brand initiatives, and corporate reputation-building efforts.
  • Collaborate with external agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact communications programs.

To Succeed in This Role

  • 5+ years of experience in corporate, internal, external, or employee communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences and channels.
  • Proven ability to develop communication strategies and execute complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and providing strategic communications counsel.
  • Strong understanding of change management and organizational communications.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex business, operational, or technical information into clear, compelling communications.
  • Experience with digital communications platforms, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and communication technologies.
  • Fluency in English required; bilingualism in English and French strongly preferred.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in issue management, crisis communications, or reputation management.
  • Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed organizations.
  • Familiarity with media relations and earned media strategies.
  • Experience in HR, payroll, technology, or business services industries.
  • Knowledge of Canadian communications, bilingual requirements, and regional stakeholder considerations.
