Cloud-based key management for secure, trackable access to physical keys across teams and locations

Full company description

Keycafe provides a cloud-based key management system used by businesses that need secure, trackable access to physical keys. The platform combines smart key lockers, mobile and web software, and integrations that allow teams, customers, and partners to share keys without manual handoffs. Keys are stored in connected lockers and accessed through scheduled or on-demand permissions. Every pickup and return is logged, creating a clear audit trail that reduces loss, disputes, and administrative work. Access can be granted remotely, changed in real time, and limited by time, location, or user role. Keycafe is used across short-term rentals, property management, auto dealerships, hotels, trucking fleets, police departments, security companies, and other operations where keys change hands frequently. The system supports single locations as well as multi-city or global deployments, with centralized control and reporting. By replacing physical exchanges and informal tracking with a managed system, Keycafe helps organizations maintain security, accountability, and consistent access across their operations.

Job description

You will be Keycafe's go-to storyteller. Our product solves a real, everyday problem for dealerships, hotels, property managers, fleets and facilities teams, and our customers have great results to share. Your job is to turn that into a steady stream of clear, credible communications that build our brand, support sales and keep our customers informed.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves to write, can juggle many projects and is comfortable working closely with sales, customer success, product and leadership. We are a small organization that operates globally and you will be asked to think creatively and take on other projects as needed such as running a podcast.

Key responsibilities

Brand voice and messaging

  • Own and maintain Keycafe's messaging framework, tone of voice and style guide
  • Translate technical product capabilities (SmartBox, cloud platform, API, integrations) into clear benefits for each audience and industry
  • Review customer-facing copy across teams for consistency and quality

Content and storytelling

  • Plan and manage the editorial calendar for the blog, website, email newsletter and resource library
  • Write and edit blog posts, web pages, product launch copy, one-pagers, sales enablement materials and email campaigns
  • Interview customers and produce case studies, testimonials and short video stories with customer success and sales

PR and media relations

  • Write and distribute press releases for product launches, partnerships, customer wins and company milestones
  • Build relationships with trade media in automotive, hospitality, property management and facilities, plus Vancouver and Canadian tech press
  • Pitch stories, prepare spokespeople with briefing notes, and track coverage
  • Identify and submit to industry awards and speaking opportunities

Social media and community

  • Manage Keycafe's company LinkedIn and other social channels: plan, write, publish and engage
  • Support employee advocacy so the team shares Keycafe content
  • Monitor conversations about Keycafe, competitors and our industries
  • Develop a Keycafe podcast and interview customers and industry specialists about their own industries for general awareness not just about key management.

Customer, partner and internal communications

  • Write product update announcements, release notes summaries and customer newsletters with product and customer success
  • Produce co-marketing content with partners and integration partners
  • Support internal communications such as all-hands updates and company announcements

Events, measurement and operations

  • Support trade shows and industry events with booth messaging, collateral and pre- and post-event communications
  • Report monthly on communications KPIs (share of voice, coverage, engagement, traffic, content-influenced pipeline)
  • Manage freelancers or agencies as needed and keep the asset library organized

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in communications, PR or content marketing, with at least 2 years in B2B SaaS, technology or a related B2B environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with a portfolio showing range: long-form content, press releases, case studies, web copy and social posts
  • Proven ability to explain technical products in plain, persuasive language for business buyers
  • Experience with media relations: writing releases, pitching journalists and securing coverage
  • Experience running a company LinkedIn presence and creating content for social channels
  • Strong project management: you can run several projects at once and hit deadlines
  • Comfortable working closely with sales, customer success, product and leadership, and interviewing customers
  • Comfortable using AI writing and research tools responsibly to work faster while keeping quality high
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work from our Vancouver office 4+ days a week

Benefits

  • Extended health and dental coverage
  • Paid vacation and personal days
  • Professional development budget for courses, conferences or memberships
  • Attend Team events
  • Opportunity to build and grow within a scaling SaaS/IoT company.
  • Work with a tangible, innovative product already trusted by businesses worldwide.
  • Career growth and visibility — your success is highly visible in a company where results matter.
