CONTENT DEVELOPER

About Legends Haul

Legends Haul is a Vancouver-based food manufacturer, distributor and protein innovator serving thousands of British Columbia’s leading restaurants, retailers, hotels, caterers and foodservice operators.

Founded in 2018, the business has grown from a local startup into a vertically integrated food company built around premium products, practical service and meaningful partnerships across the food ecosystem.

From our SQF Certified, 45,000sf Vancouver facility, we manufacture, source and distribute products that help our customers succeed while supporting local producers and communities.

Our core expertise is sustainably sourced centre-of-the-plate proteins, value-added meat manufacturing, wholesale distribution and premium foodservice solutions. Alongside our distribution business, Legends Haul continues to grow proprietary brands and product platforms, including Chateau Water, WOOZA pizzas and other customer-focused innovations.

At Legends Haul, we believe food has the power to connect people, strengthen communities and create a better future. Through innovation, craftsmanship and a relentless commitment to quality, we are helping shape the future of food—one meal at a time.

Role Summary

The Content Developer is a hands-on creative and brand-content role responsible for bringing Legends Haul’s products, customers, people and emerging direct-to-consumer platform to life through high-quality photography, video and digital content.

This position will report to the CEO and work in close partnership with the Director, Brand and Marketing, supporting both the established wholesale business and the continued build-out of Legends Haul’s direct-to-consumer, e-commerce and premium retail channels.

The role will have a strong emphasis on creating the content itself. The successful candidate will be comfortable planning a shoot, operating a camera, directing subjects, capturing food and product imagery, editing photo and video, preparing digital assets and getting into the market to tell meaningful customer and brand stories.

On the wholesale side, the Content Developer will work closely with Sales, Business Development, customers, chefs and partners to create content that strengthens relationships, showcases products and reinforces the Legends Haul brand in the market.

On the direct-to-consumer side, the role will become deeply involved in the development of e-commerce, retail, product launches, merchandising, campaigns and consumer storytelling as the channel grows.

This is not primarily a social-media-management position. Social platforms are important distribution channels, but the core mandate is to consistently create strong, commercially useful content that can be deployed across wholesale, retail, e-commerce, email, websites, sales tools, events, point-of-sale materials and social media.

The position is based from the East Vancouver office and will require regular hands-on work throughout the facility and in the market at restaurants, retail locations, events, supplier locations and other customer or partner environments.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day photo and video content creation across Legends Haul’s wholesale, direct-to-consumer, e-commerce, retail, product and company platforms

  • Work with the CEO and Director, Brand and Marketing to translate brand priorities, commercial initiatives and consumer strategy into an actionable content plan

  • Plan, shoot, edit and deliver high-quality photography and video for products, chefs, customers, suppliers, employees, manufacturing, events, retail and company storytelling

  • Create product photography and video assets for e-commerce, websites, digital campaigns, sales presentations, customer programs, point-of-sale materials and retail merchandising

  • Become deeply integrated with the direct-to-consumer business as it develops, supporting e-commerce launches, retail openings, product drops, seasonal features, merchandising, promotions and customer education

  • Work directly with the wholesale Sales and Business Development teams to identify customer stories, chef collaborations, product features, supplier stories and market opportunities worth capturing

  • Visit restaurants, retailers, customers and partners to create collaborative content that provides value to both Legends Haul and the featured partner

  • Build visual stories around Legends Haul’s premium proteins, manufacturing capabilities, internal brands, sourcing relationships and differentiated product access

  • Create practical educational content including product knowledge, preparation, cooking applications, cut features, sourcing stories and behind-the-scenes content

  • Partner with the Manager, Direct-to-Consumer and Retail Growth on consumer product content, merchandising assets, retail signage, launches and the physical-to-digital customer journey

  • Prepare and optimize content for the website, Shopify or comparable e-commerce platforms, email marketing, digital advertising, sales tools and social channels

  • Support social media with a consistent pipeline of strong visual content and participate in publishing where appropriate, while maintaining the role’s primary focus on content creation rather than community management

  • Support events, activations, product launches and customer initiatives with pre-event, live and post-event content as required

  • Maintain brand consistency across photography, video, editing, typography, graphics and other content applications in partnership with the Director, Brand and Marketing

  • Build and maintain an organized, searchable library of approved photo, video and digital assets that can be accessed by Sales, Marketing, DTC and leadership

  • Manage content usage, releases, file organization, naming conventions, version control and archiving in a practical and scalable manner

  • Maintain and care for company content equipment and recommend practical investments in cameras, lighting, audio, editing tools and production resources

  • Coordinate external photographers, videographers, designers, agencies or freelancers when specialized capability or additional capacity is required

  • Review content performance and use available engagement, e-commerce, campaign and customer data to improve future creative work

  • Remain hands-on and responsive to unplanned opportunities, customer visits, product arrivals and business moments that are worth capturing

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in content creation, photography, videography, brand content, food, hospitality, retail, consumer products, agency work or a comparable creative environment

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality photography and video work; food, product, hospitality, retail or lifestyle content is a significant asset

  • Demonstrated hands-on ability to plan, shoot and edit photo and video content independently

  • Ability to create content in multiple formats and aspect ratios for websites, e-commerce, email, digital campaigns, presentations and social platforms

  • Experience creating product or e-commerce content and an understanding of how imagery, video and product education support conversion

  • Strong visual judgment and the ability to maintain brand consistency across a high volume of content

  • Comfortable directing people who are not professional models, including chefs, customers, employees and partners

  • Ability to work independently in active food, warehouse, production, restaurant and retail environments while respecting food-safety and workplace requirements

  • Strong organizational skills for scheduling, asset management, file organization, approvals and multiple concurrent priorities

  • Working knowledge of website content management, Shopify or comparable e-commerce platforms, email-marketing tools and social publishing environments is an asset

  • Basic graphic-design capability and experience with layout, typography or simple motion graphics is an asset

  • Ability to interpret basic content, campaign and e-commerce performance data and apply the learning to future creative work

  • Clear written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills when working with customers, chefs, suppliers and internal teams

  • High ownership, sound judgment, resourcefulness and a consistent record of follow-through

  • Clean, polished and professional personal presentation appropriate for food environments, customer locations and brand-facing events

  • Comfortable working from the East Vancouver office and travelling regularly to customer, partner, event and retail locations

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle

  • Post-secondary education in photography, film, media, marketing, communications, design or a related discipline is an asset; an exceptional portfolio and comparable practical experience will be considered

What We Offer

  • A unique opportunity to shape the visual voice of a vertically integrated food company as it expands from wholesale into direct-to-consumer retail and e-commerce

  • Direct collaboration with the CEO and close partnership with the Director, Brand and Marketing

  • Access to premium products, chefs, restaurants, suppliers, manufacturing, retail development and a wide range of compelling content environments

  • Meaningful creative ownership with the ability to build the company’s internal content capability rather than simply execute a narrow channel

  • The opportunity to help launch a new consumer platform while continuing to support an established wholesale business

  • A collaborative, entrepreneurial and fast-growing work environment

This is an opportunity to build content around a business with real products, real craftsmanship, real customers and an evolving consumer story.

You will have access to restaurant kitchens, premium proteins, chefs, suppliers, manufacturing, events, e-commerce and a new retail platform—and the mandate to turn those environments into a distinctive body of work that helps grow the brand.

If you are a hands-on creator who can combine strong photography and video skills with commercial curiosity, collaboration and a desire to build something, we would like to hear from you.
