Job description

Who we are:

For over 25 years, Global Relay has set the standard in enterprise information archiving with industry-leading cloud archiving, surveillance, eDiscovery, and analytics solutions. We securely capture and preserve the communications data of the world’s most highly regulated firms, giving them greater visibility and control over their information and ensuring compliance with stringent regulations.

Though we offer competitive compensation and benefits and all the other perks one would expect from an established company, we are not your typical technology company. Global Relay is a career-building company. A place for big ideas. New challenges. Groundbreaking innovation. It’s a place where you can genuinely make an impact – and be recognized for it.

We believe great businesses thrive on diversity, inclusion, and the contributions of all employees. To that end, we recruit candidates from different backgrounds and foster a work environment that encourages employees to collaborate and learn from each other, completely free of barriers.

Your role:

The Cyber Security Specialist - L3 ensures the deployment, operations and continuous improvement of security tools, technologies and processes that protect Global Relay, including the AI-enabled capabilities embedded across them, and ensures advanced response to security threats and vulnerabilities. This highly technical role works directly with access control, endpoint security, vulnerability management, cryptography, and the application of AI, machine learning and generative AI to security operations. The role includes acting as an escalation point for security incidents and technical issues, incident response, threat intelligence, evaluation of security systems and processes, and safeguarding the organization's use of AI technologies. This role works closely with leadership, SecOps/DevOps, and development teams on security related matters.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve Global Relay's cybersecurity solutions ensuring alignment with business goals, Global Relay standards and industry best practices
  • Implement, manage, and monitor security technologies (e.g., WAF, Threat Intelligence Platform, SIEM, HSM, EDR/XDR, Vulnerability Management), assessing, designing and delivering AI, machine learning and generative AI use cases across these platforms, from prioritization and proof of concept through to production integration
  • Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for security incidents and service requests
  • Evaluate and tune AI-enabled security workflows for effectiveness
  • Threat-model and design safeguards for organizational use of AI; including generative AI applications, copilots, agents, MCP servers and tool integrations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, including the evolving AI threat landscape and adversarial use of AI, and interpret threat intelligence to develop new security use cases and defensive strategies
  • Use scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate security tasks and develop custom security tools
  • Research, evaluate, and deploy security solutions to ensure best of class monitoring and protection of systems and applications
  • Create and manage audit content and process documentation for security audits
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives

About you:

  • 5-7+ years hands-on experience working with core information security systems, and core infrastructure and networking components.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of cryptography and cryptographic technologies
  • You have a methodical and creative approach to problem-solving which you can communicate and document effectively
  • Proven experience as an escalation-point for the analysis of security events
  • Expert understanding of a wide variety of Network communication protocols
  • Experience using an internal and external ticketing system
  • Previous experience in troubleshooting day-to-day operational processes such as report generation, data verification, data correlation, etc.

Given the evolving AI fueled threat landscape the ideal candidate for this role has a strong, self-driven interest in applying AI, machine learning and generative AI to security operations. Experience in an enterprise setting is highly desirable. We are looking for someone with a considered view on how AI-enabled security workflows should be evaluated and tuned for effectiveness in alert enrichment, triage, detection, investigation and response automation. Success in the role calls for curiosity and awareness of the security risks of organizational AI use and an ability to reason through threats such as prompt injection, sensitive-data exposure, unauthorized actions, excessive permissions, model misuse and third-party or provider risk. If you have explored these topics through professional experience, research, experimentation, or community engagement and can discuss practical safeguards, please highlight this in your application.
