We believe great people do their best work alongside other great people. Here, you’ll have a voice, be challenged to grow and be part of a team driven by curiosity, bold thinking and ownership.

Come raise the bar of Canadian fashion with us.

Job Description

The Opportunity

A fresh perspective on fashion is taking shape at Reitmans.

As the brand continues to evolve, we're reimagining our collections with a renewed focus on style, versatility and the everyday needs of our customer. We're bringing fresh energy to how we interpret trends, develop product and create fashion that feels modern, relevant and accessible.

We're looking for a Fashion Designer – Knits who's excited to be part of that evolution, bringing creativity, fresh ideas and a strong fashion perspective to shape the future of our knitwear category.

You have a distinct creative eye, a passion for product and a genuine curiosity about fashion, culture and our customer. You understand how to translate emerging trends into knitwear that combines style, comfort, versatility and commercial appeal.

Working closely with Design, Merchandising and key partners, you'll contribute throughout the creative process — from initial concepts and seasonal direction to silhouettes, colours, fabrics, fittings and final collection execution.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop innovative, trend-driven knitwear collections, exploring new textures, yarns, fabrics, silhouettes and design details that reflect the Reitmans brand and our customer's evolving needs.
  • Translate fashion, cultural and consumer influences into relevant silhouettes, colour stories, fabrications and design details.
  • Develop sketches, garment concepts and design packages that clearly communicate creative direction and technical specifications.
  • Bring a strong design perspective to fittings and collection reviews, with close attention to fit, proportion, construction, comfort and finishing.
  • Partner closely with Merchandising to balance creative vision, customer needs and commercial opportunities.
  • Use customer feedback, competitive insights and past collection performance to continuously strengthen future assortments.
  • Explore new knit fabrics, textures, techniques and design opportunities that bring freshness and versatility to the collection.
  • Take ownership of the creative execution of assigned styles, ensuring consistency with seasonal direction and the Reitmans brand identity.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • University degree or college diploma in Fashion Design or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant fashion design experience.
  • A strong fashion sensibility and understanding of knitwear, including fabrics, textures, stretch, drape, fit, silhouette and garment construction.
  • A genuine curiosity about our customer, fashion, culture and emerging trends, with the ability to interpret them through the Reitmans brand.
  • Experience developing sketches, garment concepts, design packages and presentation materials, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to bring a creative vision to life through close collaboration with Merchandising and key partners, from initial concept through final execution.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, as the role involves regular communication with partners outside Quebec.

Your Impact

You'll play a key role in shaping the next chapter of Reitmans knitwear, bringing fresh ideas, creativity and a strong understanding of what our customer wants to wear.

Your designs will help create modern, versatile and fashion-forward collections that make everyday style feel effortless, while staying true to the accessibility and confidence at the heart of the Reitmans brand.
