About the Director, Solutions Architecture & Pre-Sales

As a Director, Solutions Architecture & Pre-Sales at Nearform, you'll be responsible for crafting, positioning, and scoping custom software and AI solutions that help enterprise clients unlock value. We're looking for a strategic, technical, and entrepreneurial leader who thrives at the intersection of enterprise software architecture, client advisory, and commercial deal shaping.

In this high-impact pre-sales leadership role, you will lead discovery engagements, architect technical solution blueprints, and navigate the commercial elements of complex project deliveries alongside our Sales and Delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Delivery teams to expand client partnerships through technical vision, AI innovation, and modern software strategy.

Client Insight & Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor on software architecture, cloud, data, and AI ecosystems—identifying complex client challenges and defining tailored technical solutions that deliver measurable business impact.

Pre-Sales Leadership & Discovery: Lead discovery and pre-sales engagements, crafting proposals, RFP responses, and pitches that clearly communicate our AI and technology capabilities.

Solution Design: Translate client objectives into an actionable solution roadmap and proofs-of-concept (POCs), working closely with experts in Software, Data, AI, Design, and engineering.

Solution Architecture & Scoping: Translate client business objectives into actionable technical solution roadmaps, system architectures, and realistic project delivery scopes in collaboration with experts across Software, Data, AI, Design, and Engineering.

Delivery Alignment: Support early-stage project kickoff to ensure a seamless transition from pre-sales solution design to execution.

Storytelling & Advisory: Help shape Nearform's technical advisory frameworks and AI practices while creating compelling case studies that showcase the transformative power of our custom solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+ years of technical leadership experience within software engineering, technical consulting, or pre-sales engineering in a digital agency or custom software consultancy environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading pre-sales technical discovery, shaping enterprise deals, and writing technical proposals/RFPs.
  • Strong hands-on background in modern custom software design, web architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), data pipelines, and AI
  • Working proficiency in at least one core programming language (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python) and familiar with AI-native software engineering practices and LLM integrations.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to lead interactive workshops, navigate complex client dynamics, and articulate outcome-based business value to technical and non-technical executives
  • Demonstrated success in engaging at executive VP/C-level within enterprise clients.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity in early-stage scoping, balancing technical perfection with commercial reality.
  • Ability to collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Delivery, and Finance to craft tailored proposals and solutions.
