Serving a population of approximately 35,000, the area is part of the broader Cariboo Regional District, which encompasses 62,000 residents. With its many lakes, rivers, and extensive hiking and biking trails, Williams Lake and the surrounding area provide an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts to camp, fish, hunt, and play during the summer months. PRACTICE

Join our collegial emergency medicine team in Williams Lake!

In our 24/7 ED, you’ll help manage approximately 22,000 visits per year. With a diverse range of cases and numerous procedural opportunities, you’ll also collaborate with specialists in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics, and psychiatry.

In our ED, you’ll have the opportunity to teach and mentor medical students and residents as part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program. The medical community offers numerous opportunities to expand your scope of practice based on your interests.

For those interested, Leadership Development Opportunities are available with Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Program.

The CMH redevelopment project will expand the hospital, adding a new building with an upgraded emergency department featuring 23 treatment spaces. By 2029, CMH will feature new medical-surgical, mental health, and maternity units, expanded oncology and ambulatory care services, and an academic space for the UBC Faculty of Medicine.

Learn more about Williams Lake’s medical and general communities on the Central Interior Rural Division of Family Practice’s website.
