Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Own and build a dynamic budgeting and forecasting financial model to support scenario analysis and ensure alignment with the general ledger system.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in building the budget and forecast through data analysis and by collecting assumptions from various business units.
  • Analyze results to understand variances from plan and provide clear explanations.
  • Provide constructive advice and challenge existing assumptions and processes to ensure plans are complete, comprehensive, and aligned with the risk management framework.
  • Work closely with outsourced Finance partners to ensure the management reporting process produces timely, accurate, and insightful information for Senior Management and the Board.
  • Analyze results and identify key issues, trends, risks, and opportunities through data-driven analysis.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, and other outsourced partners to acquire data, understand results, resolve issues, and develop scoping and testing requirements for new reporting needs.
  • Develop effective presentations that summarize financial information and key metrics for Senior Management.

Securitization Reporting & Analysis

  • Own all key elements of OneCap’s securitization management and reporting for both government-backed and non-government-backed programs, including the following activities:
    • Manage day-to-day administration of securitization facilities and funding vehicles.
    • Ensure funding capacity is optimized while maintaining compliance with program covenants.
    • Support renewals, amendments, and new funding initiatives.
    • Coordinate audits, agreed-upon procedures, and regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Identify emerging portfolio risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Perform stress testing and scenario analysis on portfolio performance.
  • Assist in the funding and liquidity management activities, including borrowing forecasts, liquidity planning, facility utilization, and funding cost optimization.
  • Oversee securitization controls and governance by maintaining reporting controls, escalating issues, documenting frameworks, and supporting audit reviews.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for securitization management and reporting activities.
  • Support securitization strategy by analyzing funding opportunities, preparing executive and Board reporting, and assessing market, interest rate, and regulatory impacts.
  • Drive securitization data analytics and process improvement through dashboards, reporting automation, data controls, and system implementation support.
  • Develop operational efficiencies by streamlining processes, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and improving handoffs.

Ad hoc Support & Analysis

  • Support MCU mortgage securitization administration and data integrity controls, including: (1) monthly screening of CMHC securitization issuance data; (2) monthly CMHC and private securitization servicer reporting; and (3) ad hoc data integrity investigations.
  • Provide additional ad hoc and project analysis as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong securitization knowledge, including funding structures, program covenants, facility utilization, portfolio performance, liquidity considerations, and related market, interest rate, and regulatory impacts.
  • Strong control, governance, and data integrity mindset, with experience maintaining reporting controls, reconciliations, standard operating procedures, and audit-ready processes.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal, funding, and program agreement requirements and translate them into practical reporting, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills, including budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, variance analysis, and executive-level reporting.
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and anomalies, investigate root causes, and develop practical recommendations.
  • Process-improvement mindset, with experience streamlining recurring reporting processes, improving handoffs, and supporting automation, dashboarding, or system implementation initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to distill complex information clearly and work effectively with Senior Management, Treasury, Finance, outsourced partners, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders.

Education, Designations, Training and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in securitization, treasury, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, or financial modelling within financial services, banking, leasing, or a related industry.
  • Experience with securitization reporting, funding facilities, covenant monitoring, liquidity analysis, portfolio analytics, or related governance and control processes preferred.
