Our mission is to build brands people believe in by delivering elevated experiences in all we do. Through uncompromising quality, purposeful innovation, and trusted partnerships, we create products and relationships that enrich lives and help shape the future of cannabis.

The Flower Room Supervisor leads the day-to-day execution of flowering operations at our Cascadia facility in Hope, BC, overseeing the critical stage from flip through harvest.

Reporting to the Cultivation Manager, the Flower Room Supervisor leads Flower Room Leads and cultivation team members to ensure crop work is completed safely, consistently, efficiently, and in accordance with production schedules and SOPs. This role coordinates daily labor and flowering activities, monitors crop health and work quality, develops team members, and proactively identifies issues that could affect product quality, yield, or production timelines.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who understands commercial cannabis cultivation, enjoys working closely with both the crop and the team, and can keep multiple rooms, priorities, and people moving in the right direction.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Supervise Flower Room Leads and cultivation team members responsible for flowering operations.
  • Plan and coordinate daily workloads across flower rooms based on crop priorities, production schedules, and available labor.
  • Provide clear daily direction and ensure team members understand priorities, expectations, and quality standards.
  • Support Flower Room Leads in coordinating their teams and maintaining consistent execution throughout the day.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members on flowering techniques, SOPs, quality standards, biosecurity, and safe work practices.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of work, providing timely feedback and addressing performance concerns as required.
  • Act as the communication link between the Cultivation Manager, Flower Room Lead, and frontline cultivation team.
  • Coordinate with propagation, facilities, quality, and processing teams to ensure seamless process transitions.

Flower Room Operations

  • Oversee daily flowering activities from flip through harvest, including pruning, defoliation, netting, canopy management, flushing, cleaning, and harvest.
  • Ensure cultivation activities are completed at the appropriate stage of plant development and according to established schedules and SOPs.
  • Regularly inspect flower rooms to monitor plant health, canopy development, crop consistency, and quality of work.
  • Proactively identify and report concerns related to pests, disease, nutrition, irrigation, environmental conditions, or crop development.
  • Coordinate closely with IPM, irrigation, cultivation, facilities, and processing teams to ensure timely interventions and smooth room transitions.
  • Ensure flowering rooms are maintained to Rubicon's standards for product quality, consistency, cleanliness, and organization.

Labor Planning & Execution

  • Translate cultivation schedules and priorities into clear daily work plans for the team.
  • Allocate labor across rooms and activities to ensure time-sensitive crop work is completed on schedule.
  • Monitor progress throughout the day and adjust assignments when priorities, crop conditions, or staffing needs change.
  • Identify potential labor or scheduling challenges early and communicate them to the Cultivation Manager.
  • Look for practical opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, consistency, and use of labor without compromising crop quality.

Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure cultivation SOPs, sanitation procedures, biosecurity standards, and safe work practices are consistently followed.
  • Maintain accurate records of plant movements, cultivation activities, observations, and inventory within required systems.
  • Ensure plant traceability and documentation requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain flower rooms in inspection-ready condition and support internal quality and compliance reviews.
  • Reinforce PPE, pesticide, equipment, and workplace safety requirements across the team.
  • Escalate quality, compliance, safety, or crop concerns promptly.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve flowering practices, workflow, labor efficiency, quality, and consistency across rooms.
  • Support the Cultivation Manager in investigating crop or operational issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide feedback on SOPs and standard work based on observations from daily operations.
  • Help establish consistent practices across Flower Room Leads, team members, rooms, and production cycles.
  • Support cultivation trials and the implementation of new practices or process improvements as required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, flowering operations, or a similar intensive horticultural environment.
  • Previous experience supervising, leading, or coordinating a cultivation or production team.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the cannabis flowering cycle, including pruning, defoliation, canopy management, plant health, and harvest readiness.
  • Ability to recognize common crop-health concerns related to pests, disease, nutrition, irrigation, and environmental conditions and escalate appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistently high standards for crop quality, cleanliness, and consistency.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize labor, prioritize work, and keep a team on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and people-leadership skills, with the ability to train, coach, provide direction, and hold team members accountable.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is considered an asset.
  • Comfort with Excel and digital cultivation, inventory, or seed-to-sale tracking systems; experience with D365 is an asset.
  • Pesticide Applicator Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work in a commercial cultivation environment.
