Job description

**HomeShare Provider**

HomeShare is a new community-based support for people with disabilities in the province. If you currently live in Nova Scotia (you can own or rent), this may be an exciting opportunity for you. We are recruiting HomeShare Providers for the Cumberland, East Hants, Colchester, Pictou, Antigonish and Guysborough counties.

We are seeking HomeShare Providers who will welcome and support an adult with a disability in their home. Providers must share a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community.

**Regular Activities**

* Building relationships and social connections
* Teaching and assisting with daily life skills

**All applicants must complete a comprehensive screening process, including interviews and home visits. Successful candidates must also provide:**

* **Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check**
* **First Aid and CPR certification**

If approved, CRSS will work closely with you to find a compatible HomeShare match. Prior to making any commitment, you and the individual will have the opportunity to meet and get to know one another. A HomeShare arrangement only moves forward when both parties agree it’s a good fit. CRSS will continue to monitor and support both the HomeShare Provider and Participant after an arrangement is made.

If you are looking for a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting difference, becoming a HomeShare Provider could be the perfect fit. By sharing your home, you can help someone build skills, gain independence, and enjoy a greater sense of belonging in their community. In return, you’ll experience the rewards of companionship, the satisfaction of making a positive impact, and the opportunity to earn income while working from home. Provider funding is based on the individual’s assessed support needs and can range from $2000 to $5500 monthly plus compensation to help cover the participant’s room and board.
