IT & Business Application Support Specialist
Montreal, Quebec | Information Technology | Reports to VP, BI and Operations
What if IT support was about more than fixing the problem in front of you?
We're looking for an IT & Business Application Support Specialist who is curious about how things work, enjoys solving problems and doesn't stop at simply getting a user back up and running.
In this role, you'll provide day-to-day technology support to our Quebec employees while also supporting CHG's business applications across Canada. You'll work with Microsoft 365 and other workplace technologies, but you'll also get involved in the systems and applications that support how our business operates.
And when you encounter something you haven't seen before? That's part of the job.
You'll investigate unfamiliar and recurring issues, research solutions, identify ways to prevent problems from happening again and help improve the overall employee technology experience.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting employees with hardware, software, access and technology-related issues
- Providing user support for CHG's business applications and systems
- Investigating unfamiliar, complex and recurring issues
- Working with vendors, internal teams and IT leadership to resolve issues
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, system use and the employee technology experience
- Creating practical guides, FAQs and other resources that help employees solve problems
- Supporting technology implementations, upgrades, testing and rollouts
- Sharing user feedback and recurring issues to help shape better technology solutions
- Staying current with emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools, and identifying practical opportunities to improve efficiency and user experience
What we're looking for
You are someone who:
- Is technically curious and enjoys figuring things out
- Looks for the why behind a problem, not just the immediate fix
- Can move comfortably between traditional IT support and business applications
- Can explain technical information in a way that makes sense to non-technical users
- Is organized, service-oriented and comfortable working independently
- Knows when to investigate further and when to escalate
- Is fluent in both French and English
You'll also bring:
- 2–4 years of experience in IT support, business application support, technical support or a related environment
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and common workplace technologies
- Experience troubleshooting business applications
- Experience creating technical documentation or user resources
- Experience with ticketing/service desk environments, implementations or process improvements is an asset
- Familiarity with applications such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Concur, BambooHR, CRM/XRM or similar business systems is an asset
- ITIL or similar service management training is an asset
- Relevant post-secondary education or technical training is an asset
Why this role?
This is an opportunity to work across both technology and the business. You'll support users, learn how our systems connect to our business processes, investigate problems that don't always come with an obvious answer and contribute to making the technology experience better for employees across Canada.
If you're the kind of person who hears “I've never seen this before” and thinks “Let me figure it out,” we'd like to hear from you.
